And I value that and I think they do too. Firstly I think half those ''reviews'' were written by the same person. There is more to the band than Amy lee, and lol, I'm sure that's not what evanescence was going for, you thinking his omg like so totally supper awesome hot (wow you really sold that song well) ever hear eveybodys fool? Should give it a listen! Anyway, moving on to actually discussing the song! (hehe.) For the positive critique first I guess, I found that Amy's amazing voice has gotten so much more powerful since the album fallen listening to fallen (which still is my favourite though) then the open door, there is a noticeable difference. So I must applaud the song on that. And usually I love the music, but I thought it sounded a bit (and I'm sorry>.<) commercial. and I know it's argued it has to sell the album, but nooo, evanescence aren't like that :( anyway the lyrics of evanescence usually touch me. I love the morbidity, the poignancy, the depth, the reality, the pain, the sorrow, the truth, the fact that you can relate, and that they represent a respectful brilliance that seems to be lost, as apathy seems to rule this damn world. But these lyrics hardly made me batter an eye-lid. I think that this song is the worst evanescence song, and despite why it was written, I don't think they feelings were conveyed very well and I found it disappointing how they seemed unoriginal and almost clichéd. Honestly I would have expected a little more depth. It's sad this song was the first to represent the open door because unlike call me when you're sober I find it a quite excellent album. I still prefer fallen though, in comparison. (because everyone seems to be comparing them =p) anyway I respect that is just my opinion, but ‘the guy in it is so hot’ hardly says much for the hard work put into this alumb.
