A wonderful school friend sent me the words to this song, and as my eyes read the words, the tears were released from my heart and soul. It is an adapted version of a hymn written in the mid to late-1800s, with some of the words changed to reflect a different belief system. I love this song, and once I have read the anonymus review, I love the song more. Enya presents the lyrics in a wider perspective, beyond particular beliefs. Offbeat Lyrics | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/6/2007 Enya's song has a beautiful tune but the lyrics are a bastardization of a wonderful old Shaker hymn. For example, one of the stanzas is correctly: No storm can shake my inmost calm, while to the Rock I'm clinging. Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth how can I keep from singing?
