The Reviews about Afer Ventus (page 1/1)
------ performed by Enya

This song is just amazing. The layering of the running verse is brilliant and the whole has such a mysterious sound. I wish Enya would continue doing more songs in Gaelic.

I'm not sure if it's correct to put things like "Sea of Clouds" in the translation. That's a correct translation from the Latin, but it's not meant literally. "Mare Nubium" is a place name on the lunar surface.

Same type of deal for most of the other names. Io is a moon of Jupiter, and Vela is a constellation. Umbriel and Ariel are moons of the planet Uranus.

Not sure if the title should be translated as African Wind either. Both "Afer Ventus" and "Africus" refer to the mythological Roman god of the southeastern wind, as well as winds themselves.

Check Enya's website.
