Does it really make a difference whether or not they're labeled as a "Christian band" or simply a screamo band with Christian members?
Their music is great either way, and their lyrics can reach out to people of all religions and walks of life.
Music is a form of art, and it can be perceived in endless different ways.

It is sad that yes this band is Christian and the song is amazing and what they are saying in it BUT also that the music is enjoyed mostly for the sound and not the lyrics, that's the main part! The lyrics say exactly what they are trying to also portray with instruments, either struggle, anger, pain, joy, realization, mistakes, love... life. I'm not saying that's what the atheists only hear! Please don't get me wrong, I know even some or more atheists have morals and ones that even resemble ones of Christians. Bless you those you walk in faith and knowing Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Best friend, that's exactly where He wants to be close to you, everyone of you! And bless you the ones that do not believe in Him, He still loves you and as Christians (those who realize we should reflect Jesus) we love you to! Those whom are lost, hurt, angry, wanting, struggling, addicted, abandoned, taken advantage of, feel unloved (ect.) Jesus is unfailing and perfect love. He is the friend that will never leave you behind EVER! Blessing upon all of you. Hugs, High fives and Hardcore dancing! Check out Underoath, Demon Hunter, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Red, Stereotrap, Norma Jean... oh how I could go on to awesome Christian Metal/punk/screamo... awesomeness! And those who are into the whole dance music you gotta check out Family Force Five
Love, Peace and Chicken Grease... give me a shout for any kind of prayer or even encouraging words, love to throw those out there cause I can't stop talking and loving "HUMANIODS"! (yeah Invader Zim, check that out too) same name I use up at the top of this message, @yahoo.com and no I didn't conform to Facebook! :)
Yes. | Reviewer: anonymous | 12/11/08
Yes, Emery is a CHRISTIAN band. They even admitted on Steven's Untitled Rock Show [2006] that they are. So pretty sure you should read up on the band before you start saying stuff. Haha.
Go Emery!
Thanks bye.
Something THEY will always miss... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/24/08
It's too bad that nobody knows that Emery is NOT a Christian band, but rather that the people in the band are Christians. The same goes for those edgier bands like Anberlin or Chevelle or 3 Days Grace. They are not a Christian band, and sometimes they don't even sing with "Christian" values in mind because they might not even write the music.
Anyways, awesome song. It's #15 in my most-played songs of all time. Way to go Emery!

I'm an atheist and I listen to many christian bands like August Burns Red, Emery, The devil wears prada and others. Just because I don't believe what they believe doesn't mean I can't enjoy their music.
funny | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/9/07
i always find it funny that so many people listen to christian bands without knowing it. Emery was suggested to me by one of my athiest friends. I cant decide if its good that the band is reaching so many people..or bad because the people they are reaching arent truly being reached- the listeners dont even know that what they are listening to is supposed to be from God. Sure its great to have symbolism. But is it good to have so much that you cant even tell what the song is Really about?
SO COLD YOU COULD SEE MY BREATH | Reviewer: Julie | 9/11/07
I love this song as well, but i really think people should relize this is a christan band and to look deeper to hear what they acually want to say, I mean i didn't understand the song at first until i heard playing with fire, then i relized that Emery has a lot of sybolizem in their lyrics, I just wanted to put that out there. Emery has a wonderful way of sharing God's word.
effin amazing | Reviewer: Jake ( the snake) | 7/2/07
this is one of my fav emery songs, we all kno emery effin rocks, but i wish they screamed a lil bit more in this one, but other than tht its perfect the guitar is great and the lyrics are great
Good Stuff! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/24/05
This song has the perfect combination of screaming and singing. A lot of bands tend to overdo the screaming but Emery always seems to get it just right. The chorus is very catchy a long with the whole song. I think this is one of the best songs on their album..."The Question"....
