When I first heard 'Sugar on the Floor" I was driving through Mobile, Alabama just searching through the local blues station. I only caught the last few lines of lyric, but it was enough to bring me close to tears. I was hooked. I didn't know who sang it or even the title...just that i was something about "sugar". It's a Kiki Dee and Elton song for sure, but Etta she gives it wings. You can feel the emotion and passion. Sugar on the Floor ranks right up there with my favorite song of all, "Adore" by Prince. I've played both of these songs once or more a week for the past 10 years. Every time I play Sugar on the Floor for someone who never heard it before, its like they been touch by an Angel...they always want me to play over again and again.
