Beautiful song, beautiful lyrics | Reviewer: Pate | 4/13/12

I heard this song when it first came out....it was beautiful then; and beautiful now. Our country was founded by our forefathers so we could be free. We never extended that freedom to our Indian brothers and sisters. Today, so many of us have a problem with immigrants....perhaps we should speak to the first Americans about that. I wonder, what would they have to say? I think Chief Joseph said it all: "I will fight no more forever." And Elton: "peace to this young warrior comes with a bullet's hole".

Indian Sunset worthy of praise | Reviewer: Daniel | 2/13/08

Indian Sunset is one of those Elton John songs I could listen to over and over again. The lyrics and music blend with a power worthy of praise and a brilliant screenplay that would be a box office smash! Who knows....someday. ~ Daniel

A true highlight of a dark and brooding album whihc still rates amongst E.J's best. A sad lamenting tribute to the Native American, which not only higlights Bernie Taupin's masterful lyrics, but the depth and genius of Elton John's ability to create modern music using the influences of classical effect. Perhaps the only flaw in this brilliant track is Bernie's reference to Geronimo's death. Historically, Geronimo died a broken man on a reservation, long after the last battle was fought by him. Perhaps it would have been more effective had he refferred back to the chieftain, Yellow Dog. A piece of billiance that should have been featured on his Melbourne Symphony Orchestra tour.

truely amazing, what an incredible song written by a true genius and composed by by a musical magician. Not a song you would maybe associate with elton too much, but it has a certain lion king feel to it.
