Review about Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands ------Performed by Elliott Smith | 07/24/2007 11:00:00 AM song review This song hits a deep chord in me...would have fit well on "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts club Band", sort of a continuation in more modern and loosely constructed lyrics--for instance, it would have been a hard sell for "You say you mean well, you don't know what you mean Fucking oughta stay the hell away from things you know nothing about" in 1967... I always thought he had a bit Beatleslike voice too, but my point is not how much like them he is, or this song is...just some similarities. It works exceptionally well here, with the surrounding songs on the album, it shoots straight to your heart, unless you're the kind of soulless person he seemed to loathe...but then you aren't, or you wouldn't be reading this here. Anyway, something from this album will reach out and grab at you; the song is great. His loss is as tragic as Lennon's. Thanks to Scott for submitting the review.
