Listening to Telephone Line all these years later has made me realise what a wonderful band of real musicians ELO were, with superb musical craftsmanship and genuine human emotion carefully wrought into every song. Of course, not being young, pretty or able to perform absurd and often inappropriate dance routines whilst miming, they ultimately had no chance.
