the correct lyrics are I'm blue da ba dee da ba di. It can be difficult to tell what they're saying because for a while I thought they were saying I'm blue promise me that you'll die but that isn't it

I think everyone has a different interpretation of this song. I always understood it to say "I'm blue, I would die without E", but I've been seeing alot of interpretations of "I'm blue, I would die if I were green." Either one makes sense, it's an old song (well, not THAT old, but older), so I think it's fun to leave it up in the air, because then you never know WHO has the right interpretation; anyone can be right.
