I do somewhat agree with the extensive solos, but some people enjoy listening to just the guitars. So dragonforce is meant to apeal to those, not those who prefer lyrics. I fully appreciate the solos and could listen to them, and learn some on guitar, over and over again My opinion | Reviewer: setsunayaki@yahoo.com | 12/5/07 I like dragonforce, but I do have a professional opinion of them. The lyric draws people together because the themes are different than most metal songs. Most of their songs sound similar and one of the things about music is that at first listening to the whole song, it works. You then realize that in a 7 - 8 minute song, there are 90 - 120 seconds of lyrics. The rest of the song are solos. So after a while...I started saying "Oh I don't want to listen to 6 minutes of Solos, I just rather listen to another song altogether. So I go to another Dragonforce song and encounter the same problem. Don't get me wrong, I love metal and grew up on it, but I think some of their songs ae overkill and over the top. You don't need to listen to 5 - 7 minutes of Solos to prove a point. Pantera and Metallica are examples of this. The longer you make a solo, the harder it is for it to become memorable in your mind. Also, after several albums revolving around the same theme...I think everyone could agree that with their talent and potential, to try something else.
