The Reviews about Puritania (page 8/ 10)
------ performed by Dimmu Borgir

First of all, this song rocks muthafuckinass. When I listen to this I can barely see the four angels coming down on earth to deliver humanity's doom. And that's Metal spirit, that's fuckin' "core". The song itself is very basic, though, but the power delivered associated to the apocalyptic lyrics are just a fucking catharsis, hate and fear, THAT'S FUCKING EMOTIONAL, THAT'S ART, that's music.
Secondly, as far as I know, Shagrath, Silenoz and Mustis don't share radical opinions on politics, which is very rare in a true black metal band. Hellhammer, the new drummer... is different. Well, let's say he's been Mayhem and Arcturus' drummer, that should answer to the question "is he a fucking neonazi ?"
About satanism I don't know, they say they are, and as they speak in their interviews, I imagine their satanism is not a form of misanthropia, they seem to be very stupid on this point, but that's the charm, that's black metal.

Satanism isn't close in any way Nazism; In fact they are quite near opposites. Know what your talking about before you speak....or type.

Fuckin' Nazis. | Reviewer: Michael | 7/23/07
In truth, much of the Nazi ideology, religious slant, and pseudo-science is built on esoteric Theosophy. You can look to the writings of Madame Helena Blavatsky and find the undercurrents of racism and glorification of Arianism... Many of the most influential Nazi leaders had roots in what they themselves deemed "the Dark Arts" and Hitler himself was an odd mesh of his own Christian upbringing and decidedly pagan superstitions. Their ties to Catholicism amounted to pure coercion and social manipulation stemming from the fact that Germany had long been Christian.
Of course, Satanism doesn't even enter into it.

"If ever there were a philosophy closer to nazism than satanism I haven't heard of it."
Actually, Hitler was Christian, and as the leader of the nazi party would make their ideas closer to that of the KKK. Though, many of the other members in the nazi party believed in different pagan theologies. As for satanists, in this case theistic satanism(which is, from what I can tell, what Dimmu Borgir practice), it is laughable. Whereas, LaVeyan Satanism could probably be considered a more acceptable religious standpoint.
Nazis are similar to satanists? Umm... no. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/5/07
