I also think that he's saying that she's the only one he wants in his life - the only melody I want to hear. They meet up in the woods and drink tea together...(shroom tea) and end up going on an adventure of sorts through the woods... Even the floating deals in the video resemble dried shrooms. "Brown eyes" could be used to describe a certain type of psychedelic mushroom. For those of you who have done it, this idea makes perfect sense. For those of us from the Pacific Northwest, we know it's not too far fetched for guys to try out shrooms in the woods... especially for Seattle musicians. It's one of the first I heard and I found it to be so beautiful. When I'm sad I can listen to this song and it makes me feel happy and when I'm happy I listen to it and I feel like I'm on top of the world. It makes you look past everyday life and think what's beyond that, what's better. Along with Ben Gibbards beautiful voice are always beautiful lyrics.
