anyways yeah I could go into some long drawn out review over what I think Death Cab is to me and what they are to the world, but I wouldn't do it justice.Fuck it I'll try.
Simply put,not that it matters on here really, but Death Cab for Cutie and the Postal Service have been the soundtrack to the past few years in my life and they are unlike anyone else.Period.
Their music conveys emotion that's hard to find in a band nowadays with all this mediocrity and copycat crap so many bands have hung unto for pop stardom.I could care less if I ever meet the band.
Just to know this type of music has been a privelege.Ben Gibbard is a lyrical and musical Genius. And Walla puts his fire in as well to make this art.It is an artform too often overlooked in modern music.
I hope you all find a relation to the music. It's truly amazing.
Thats all I got.
the tracks may end, but the sound never stops. | Reviewer: Rachel. | 8/25/07
Despite the fact i exhume Death Cab from my body, i will try to keep this as dignified as possible. Death Cab for Cutie is the purest, most superior band i've listened to. From the delicate vocals and the intricate music, to the poetic lyrics. If the lyrics were published as a book i would read it from cover to cover. Don't just be the person, that loves "Soul Meets Body," please dig a little deeper within the collection. It's well worth it. every song is exceptional. I'll just forget "hey tomcat!" was every made. :]

Death Cab For Cutie Is Amazing,
All they're lyrics have a Story Behind the words.
You just have to listen close.
I have listened to them for a Year now.
And this whole time there always the main band,
They are the background bands to my other bands.
And they always seem to know how I feel.
Listen. Think. Absorb. | Reviewer: Lobeee | 5/10/07
This is amazing: for once I don't need a password to say a few words. Thanks. Speaking of thanks...kudos to DCFC for one of the best CD's of 2005 -- Plans. The good thing about this group is that they stimulate you to reflect on your own person, your own experiences, your own values. Listen. Think. Absorb.
it's 3am. pardon my ramble. | Reviewer: Joe C | 3/22/07
I'm going to try not to sound like a fanboy/fangirl, too.
DCFC is a great band for a couple different reasons. First, the lyrics are incredible. Some of them tell a story, some paint instead a visual picture that you sort of have to swallow whole to see. Others require you to sit and listen (or read!) several times before you understand their meaning. And some will seem totally incomprehensible until you're out there in the world and something happens to you, and you realize that that's the exact kind of experience Ben was writing about.
If the lyrics provide the mental image, the music provides the colors and hues, and the vocals give it a definite shape. For example, the Line Of Best Fit. The lyrics tell a story about 2 people who loved each other at some point, but have since lost their "appetite," so to speak. The music gives the story a sort of mechanical, droning mood, while the vocals are sung in a rhythm that feels like the characters are wearily trudging through their story, as if they were force-marching through a foot of mud.
While other songs tell different stories or paint different pictures, this synergy is present in almost all of their music. Very little of it aspires to be the catchy, packaged-sounding pop you'd hear on the radio, and yet you'll find it stuck in your head anyway.

I agree with the review underme.
Thank You for not sounding so fanatic. I appreciate it.
And Death Cab For Cutie is a beautiful group of musicians. They dont try to look a certain way for the media. And even though not all their songs are as upbeat as other bands' , in my opinion the songs have something to say. And that is original. Really hope they keep on composing such beautiful and gentle melodies.
Wow | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/26/06
DCFC, is an amazing band. Ben Gibbards voice has a lot of melody and softness perfect for their gentle and clever lyrics. This band means a lot to me, and I hope they come out with a new album soon.
ps.litsen to "what sarah said"

Death Cab For Cutie. | Reviewer: Boomerang Ed. | 12/31/05
Unlike the review above me, I am going to try and write what the band Death Cab For Cutie mean to me. I am not going to (like the review above), inject a flamboyant level of fanboy/girlism into my review, and I am not going to, by any circumstance, conclude any sentence with more than one exclaimation mark. Like the review above me.
Death Cab For Cutie are an interesting experience. They're the kind of music you can click along to, but won't remember the lyrics too. They don't stick so good. But, this is no bad thing. In fact, it seperates them from other mediocrities in their genre.
DCFC, as the biography says, are first and foremost, a pop band. They're not conventional though. They're interesting. They're a bit mysterious. They're emotional. It's rare that a pop band can come out with such poetic lyrics and a level of emotion that DCFC do. You will find yourself humming their tunes on the way home from the bus stop, but you will also find yourself thinking and (hopefully) connecting to what they're saying.
Personally, I enjoy DCFC. I can't fault them. They're pretty neat. You don't often get such a fusion in bands of Death Cabs style. They're a unique experience, if a bit of an acquired taste.
Don't go into Death Cab waiting for great things, because the great things will always come to you.
