Never love the car but love the song | Reviewer: Jo | 6/8/09

I never was really fond for car pub but when I hear that song I was caught by surprise.I turned back from my computer, aiming at the TV to watch the last minute of the fast Lincoln publicity.I still didn't remember the Lincoln model or what it as all about but I remember the song,it was digged somewhere in my subconscious library.I waited all night for another occurrence of this same publicity. One day I typed "new Lincoln car lyric" on Google and I discovered that many more people were interested in that song. That day I learned about David Bowie,Peter Schiller and Shiny Toy Guns.

Not Bowie's song | Reviewer: Shay | 4/21/09

The song from the commercial was done by Shiny Toy Guns, and you can get the song free through their site. And this is not a Bowie Cover but a Peter Schilling cover, same story line in both songs, sort of, I like both of them. Look up Major Tom on Wiki, and you'll find Major Tom has an influence in a lot of stuff,

How are you. What can you say about a society that says that God is dead and Elvis is alive?
I am from Serbia and , too, and now am writing in English, give please true I wrote the following sentence: "Com offers top travel destinations in myanmar, you can reserve cheap domestic airline tickets, hotels, cars, cruises and vacation packages, all in."

Thank you so much for your future answers :). Kendrick.

Major Tom in commercial | Reviewer: Haley | 4/1/09

I've seen the same commercial and fell in love with the song. It's a Lincoln car commerical and the song, in the ad, is done by Cat Powers....as per You Tube. I love that version though I can't find it online. David Bowie's version is still great.

After an hour of looking it up online, finally found the song (I'd never heard it before as I'm only 25!) ha.

Hope this helps.

The audacity of float | Reviewer: Mike M | 1/22/09

I hear a snippet of this song on a TV commercial and I thought the lyrics ran:

This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You’ve really made the grade
But you're floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today

Which, as Bowie was/is a social anarchist, and this song was written during the age of conflict and wonder (1969), before man had even reached the moon (and I clearly recall seeing a "colored only" water fountain), that my memory of the lyrics would have been a great directly ironic comment on having reached the apogee of societal norms while floating untethered through the abyss of space; which, in essence, his lyrics indirectly achieve, but in a most peculiar way that I don't think most people can readily grasp (especially me).

Oh well.

Sad, but good. | Reviewer: Zashiwara | 11/3/08

I heard the new version of the song by I-don't-know-who (and I would like to find out who does it...) and couldn't stop thinking about it for ages.
It's downloadable at almost every music site. Just google search "free mp3 download" and you should find something.

'Tis great | Reviewer: Domo | 2/15/08

I've always liked the song. It's helpful to have the lyics down somewhere correct and everything. Thanks for posting these.

By the way, if you like this song, you might want to try listening to some of Crosby Still and Nash if you don't already know them.

You never know, they could appeal to you.

good lyrics. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/22/07

nice lyrics. you got everything right. but the name of the song is space oddity?

The lyrics were perfect! Not a typo to be seen. But one suggesion is to put periods at the end op scentences not just uppercase the next letter.
