Anyone can interpret a song the way they want to. The fact that the band means it one way doesn't mean you have to go and agree with it. Anyone can have a different reason for liking songs and all songs are open for different interpretation. I couldn't care less what the band think the song's about, I like it in my way. I doubt the Darkness gets angry cuz I bought the album with wrong interpretations....
