Dan Fogelberg lives forever in our hearts | Reviewer: Josephine | 11/11/12

Dan's wonderful music will never be forgotten. His songs remind us of how life should be treasured always. His soulful voice touches the very core of our hearts and I listen to his songs every night before I go to sleep.

To the morning | Reviewer: Debbie Joy | 6/3/12

I start every morning with my strong cappuccino, Papillons and chihuahua kids snuggling close to me, and, inevitably, To The Morning playing on my iPod at least three times before I consider the day on-course. I am from champaign-Urbana, where Dan went to school at the u of I, and I remember the Red Herring coffee house where he got his start. He was much loved here, and always in my heart. What a talent. We are fortunate to have his beautiful, soulful songs to remember him by, and to enjoy. He makes my every day special.

An inspiration for me | Reviewer: Dennis Miller | 4/17/12

Dan. You were an inspiration for me to fight my prostate cancer. I was diagnosed in summer of 2010. I remember immediately going to your memorial along the river in Peoria after my diagnosis to think about what is next for me

I didn't know! | Reviewer: Anne Marie Carter | 2/24/12

Just watching an infomercial..soft rock of 1980's-1090's. Dan Fogelburg is no longer with us? he was my age. I would sing out loud "Celebrate Me Home", cry to "lLeader of the Band". I'm from Champaign, Illinois, I could relate to His music. My condolences, albeit belated, to his family. Love you Dan!

We miss him | Reviewer: Lisa DiGirolamo | 11/13/11

I have been a fan of Dan Fogelbergs music as I was growing up. I was also a fan of of his art work. If you did not know his music, it's not too late
to get familiar with it. If you don't , you will be missing out on a large part learning what an american is all about. Dan was an amazing man with an amazing heart that showed through his lyrics. He is sadly missed by all. God bless his family

He was one of the best | Reviewer: Janie | 9/16/11

I have loved Dan Fogelberg's music since the early 80's; I think Aude Lang Syne was the first song I ever heard and it was so powerful. He made life sound so simple. My father had prostate cancer.

And to "Phil" below- God bless and may you have a miracle; barring that, a peaceful transition from our world to the next.

Solace for the Soul... | Reviewer: Cheryl | 7/15/11

I wanted to pay tribute to an incredibly soulful
man who sang my sadness, voiced my hopes, and dared to be the truest of true selves. When I was in my 20's and felt so disconnected from most of the world around me, Dan Fogelberg's music touched me in the deepest of deep places in my soul. May his memory live on forever in his songs...and in the many lives he touched...and continues to touch...My fave song is...There's a Place in the World for a Gambler...and I can still seeing the lighters light up when he sang this song in LA at a concert I went to in the mid-80's...Wow....

He left a lot of memories........ | Reviewer: Dave | 2/17/11

I first heard Dan Fogelberg through an old girlfriend of mine in college back in 1978. She told me he was an incredible song writer and singer and that after listening to some of his songs I'd be hooked. Well, I did and I was. To this day I still stick one of his CD's in while I'm at work or while I'm running on a trail with my IPOD. What an incredible talent. I was able to see him in concert two times and still remember them vividly. My wife always thought I was Dan Fogelberg "obsessed" but I also thought his songs were so well written and I could relate to a lot of what he sang about. My wife and I even opened our wedding with "Believe in Me" 25 years ago. He gave me a lot of memories over the years and will certainly be missed.

Some Guys Can Get Away With it | Reviewer: Doug | 2/9/11

I was surprised in the early 80's when going through my punk rock girlfriend's album collection to find an almost complete Dan Fogelberg discography. Although her usual taste in music was quite a bit more abrasive, Clash, Sex Pistols, etc. she said she loved this mellow bearded guy who wore his heart so prominently on his sleeve. When I asked her what she saw in a songwriter so different from the rest of her musical preferences, she said something like: "Yeah, well I don't usually like this kind of music, but some guys can get away with it." That kind of blew me away, because I knew she was right. Fogelberg could make music that dripped of sweetness but was neither mauldin or pretentious, a rare talent indeed.

..the leader of the band is tired.... | Reviewer: Phil | 12/27/10

I remember where I first heard "Leader Of The Band". I was in a small second floor walk up during a rehearsal break with two young ladies that made up two thirds of our folk/gospel trio. "You have to hear this, it will make you cry" And to be honest, I got real close. I sang it again today. My basement is full of guitars, boards, mics and stuff so I can close my eyes and pretend that I'm somewhere else. You see, I too have Prostate Cancer. Like Dan I thought that the last year had made things right. Unfortunately that's not the case. I'm now 'uncurable'. Ironically I'll be 56 in a couple of months. I assume that the same disease will take us both. Until then I can still sing his songs, Closer, is my wife's favourite. Who knows, later, maybe he can teach me a few of his chords. Rest In Peace Dan. Rest In Peace.

Dan,You have left a wonderful legacy for all of us who were lucky enough to see you perform and experience your life & soul through your music. You represent the best of my college years(late 70's-early 80's)in Southern California.Your music moved us and still does!I always felt like you were an extension of my family since my family is from Central Illinois too.I am deeply saddened by your suffering and our loss but I know we'll see you again!Until then, I hope you're in heaven jamming with the other greats that have passed before you!...kathy

Just found out about Dan not being with us anymore | Reviewer: Evelyn Nowlin | 3/30/10

I am so sorry to hear that Dan is no longer with us. I have been disconnected from the world for awhile and had not even heard of his physical death. Dan was a great inspiration in my life when I was in the Military (1976 - 1980) and while I was in College in VA (1980 - 1985). I used to sing all of his songs and play his albums very loud while I sang along. My entire family was introduced to his music by me and we all loved him. God rest and bless his spirit and soul forever. My condolences to all who loved him and was touched by him and his music.

pondering the loss | Reviewer: Susan | 5/22/09

I'm thrilled. I just found a Fogelberg song online that I only knew as a 45 single, Hearts and Crafts. When first I heard of Dan's death, I was shocked mostly, losing him so young. But as I listen even now to the haunting lyrics and melody of this long-lost song, I find I'm finally grieving for my loss. Dan's gift was sharing his life and love through his beautiful songs, and his music provides a constant backdrop to my life, the primary artist in my paltry music collection. What consoles me? I can contemplate this more as I listen to H&C over and over and over again, poigniantly touched each time as I listen to his gorgeous voice, strong and true. Thanks, Dan.
