Totally Feeling it | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/05

I heard this song when i watched the movie Closer but never payed too much attention to it before. I was seeing someone for a while and everything seemed to be perfect and then out of nowhere he decided he wasnt ready for a relationship and we kinda drifted and just became friends. I am still very very much in love with him and when i heard this song, I totally totally became a part of it. It explained in such sad detail what i was feeling at the time and what i have yet to feel.. Very beautiful song.

how this fit into my own life. | Reviewer: fredobean | 10/4/05

this song is like a plague, you dont think of it much when it starts then it slowly and unknowingly graps your feelings and mutilates them, i was once in what i though was love at the time (i now know it was not), things didnt go well in the relationship and we we forced to go different ways... the feeling of vast emptyness that then filled my heart and every single pore of me, came resurfacing, i felt like i got punched right in the chest, short breaths, sweats, broken.. i find it incredible that a song can bring some forgotten feelings and experiences in a heartbeat, perhaps its because its the closest fit to the feel of this song, coz i know now i didnt love her, i guess everyone at one point must have had a similar education on this unique feeling, the way he literally keeps its so simple yet so profound, yet manages to pour all his emotions on every line is captivating. truly a great song, i know that even if i had not associated this song to that time in my life i still would feel so empty, this guy is truly a talented guy, this is the first time ive ever heard anythign from him but its enough to make me want to grab his discography. find it impossible to not find myself humming or singing it alot. very sad song... makes me want to cry with damien i knwo its just a song but whatever made him think of such a song and the way he depicts it in the tone of his voice is incredible.

The lady in the song | Reviewer: I.Hanekom | 8/22/05

The girl singing those 3 lines in the song (which is beautiful) is Lisa Hannigan.

"I can't take my eyes off you..." | Reviewer: Temptation's Girl | 8/20/05

This song is like an essential breakup song. It's excellent creation, is probably only comparable to Joni Mitchell's essential love song, "Case of You" --- one of my favorite love songs of all time (and probably the best one ever, too). The way it turns from desperate to even more desperate, just when you thought it was over, draws you in.

It can make you cry tears you never thought you'd cry when you listen to it, and the violin's intensity, the woman's voice as she sings her own thoughts in the song --- is like an oasis in the middle of a barren desert. There's nothing like its beauty and intensity. Clearly, and easily, one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Amazing | Reviewer: Bennas | 8/5/05

This song truly is amazing. It touched me on so many levels. All of us have had our hearts broken or came to the relization that it was time to move on in an relationship... even though you were not ready to let go. The absolute power of the lyrics combined with the emotional singing of Damien makes it truly a one in a million type of song - similar as Sinead O'Connor's 1989 song Nothing Compares 2 U...

Ye...after watching closer this was a must have...even though it is a serious downer...it is so pretty...

heartbreaking - beautiful song | Reviewer: elen | 7/8/05

This song is one of the most touching songs i've ever heard. It breaks your heart listening to it and yet you wanna listen to it over and over again. And when you're not, you feel like you wanna wisper it again and again. I've kept listening to it just after i fell apart with the one i love and surely this is not a song that helps you get over a person and go on. This certainly is a song that makes you wanna stay in love or even fall more in love with them. The woman in the middle of the song surely makes it even more heartbreaking. I think the lyrics, the music and the sentiment in Rice's voice all express the longing and pain you feel, when you are in love and separated. Simply, but completely. I also find very amusing and optimistic the way it ends "..till i find somebody new"..
Amazing song! Once you listen to it, it haunts you..

Powerful | Reviewer: Serena | 6/30/05

I usually do not enjoy listening to slow songs, but this one is an exception. Damien Rice is one of the very few singer/songwriters who can sing with such emotion and can write such simple, honest, and powerful lyrics. The Blower's Daughter is a song about falling in love and not being able to express those feelings truly. Damien Rice is constantly being compared to John Mayer, Aqualung, and even Jack Johnson. But Damien Rice has something special that none of these singers possess. Although he is not mainstream at all, he proved that he can come up with a song that we all can relate to, which is why The Blower's Daughter is a beautiful song.

I heard the song when I saw closer. The movie itself didn't stay with me but this song did. days later, I would find the melody running insistently through my head. It's haunting.

sad and sweet | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/13/05

This song makes me think of the person I love. I will probably never see him again.
