This has to be one of my new favorite songs by him. I listened to Damien Rice for years and never bothered to listen to this song but I'm glad I did. After listening to Cheer's Darlin', this song is almost like the sequel. After falling in love with this girl and finding out about her lover, he runs off to fight in war, realizing there is nothing left for him. But really he is doing because he loves her. Serious over compression lends to this with the clipping going mental no doubt. I bet the Engineer was wondering what's happening. Lovely lovely bitterness of a guy passed over and trying to come to terms with the fact he's really not got a lot of options. Probably addressing has he really got a right to go pissing all his bullets around?
