here's to you and you're lover.. | Reviewer: imagine/peace | 1/28/09
I love the addition of Cheer's Darlin' into the song. This has to be one of my new favorite songs by him. I listened to Damien Rice for years and never bothered to listen to this song but I'm glad I did.
After listening to Cheer's Darlin', this song is almost like the sequel. After falling in love with this girl and finding out about her lover, he runs off to fight in war, realizing there is nothing left for him. But really he is doing because he loves her. It's so sad, yet beautiful.

I love how this song ties in with Cheers Darlin'. This seems to me to be about going on the stag or hen do? Before the wedding at least.
How can he let go and move on when she doesn't even know he loves her? I love the break in this song, and the feeling. It's amazing.

Best song on the album. The simple down strumming structure of the distorted guitar really lends a heavy power filled serious tone.
Serious over compression lends to this with the clipping going mental no doubt. I bet the Engineer was wondering what's happening.
Lovely lovely bitterness of a guy passed over and trying to come to terms with the fact he's really not got a lot of options. Probably addressing has he really got a right to go pissing all his bullets around?
As a bloke I can only conclude that yes, most probably because she's probably led him on.

it's coming over you with its music and lyrics and there's nothng else for you to do but embrace it as it is. Reminds me of Prague in a twisted kind of way :)
