I think the meaning of the song has to do with the major illness over in AFRICA called, well, sleeping sickness. All the things they sing about in this song are actually symptoms of the parasite these kids in AFRICA are suffering through.
AWESOME song fellas, keeps the heart rate up especially "IF" the song really is about the Illness in AFRICA...poor kids!!!!

I remember when I had first herd this song, i had just got the new album put onto my iPod, and i was laying on bed just about asleep when this song came on, i remember being hardley awake during the first verse's and Chorus, and i was already amazed, then the instant i herd Gord's voice, i was wide awake, i sat straight up in my bed, His voice is so recognizable. I started the song over, turned it up a bit, and layed back down, and the next thing i knew i had tears running down my face. Music makes me very emotional, and i just wanted to say, VERY job very well done, this song never fails to impress me, and the WHOLE album in general is extremly good!

So, to be honest I never was a HUGE City & Colour fan. Yes, I did hear those songs six million times over on the radio, and yes I did enjoy them to some extent. But to be honest, when my boyfriend bought the newest cd I was VERY hesitant to even listen to it.
Then he mentioned that Gordon Downie was on one of the tracks. So INSTANTLY, me being the die hard Tragically Hip fan I am. I was down for a listen. And with in the first 20 seconds of the song, I was hooked. I enjoy this album as a whole, but this song is absolutly amazing.
I dont souly love this song due to Mr.Downies contributions, although it is a factor.
The chilling sound of such RAW talent is so evident in this song. Aswell with bass up high you get a great modern drum sound it is chilling and moving.

I like this song.
The guitar work is brilliant but simple for once lol.
i suggest this song to anyone who wants to relax or for inspiration.
