I can only guess what this song means. I think this song is about a man who is feeling mass amounts of guilt from keeping this secret. (I presume the secret is sex). "Doomed to dam the rift Across the shifting abyss With her body and it’s gift… My filthy little secret" By "doomed to dam the rift" i presume that he's talking about holding in this secret and keeping it quiet. Whilst the second line corresponds to the first by making the mass amount of guilt that builds up, seem like a "sinking abyss." I'm not very good at this sort of stuff.
