One of their more quality tracks and i hope the following songs on the album will be as good. Chris M's voice hasn't changed since and is still very beautiful. Coldplay's new album X & Y is certain to become a great hit throughout the world. i can't wait to hear more from them in the future!! I had read the stories about Coldplay abandoning the work they had previously been doing in the studio and wasn't sure whether this meant that they had lost, for the time being, their creative power and focus. When I recieved an email through www.coldplay.com (the official site) announcing their appearance on Radio 1 and that the track would be available to listen to online my anticipation was extremely high. I was expecting to either be really disappointed or really elated and on first listening I was neither. I guess I'd been waiting so long to hear some of the new stuff that I just got carried away. So I listened again and found that I couldn't stop thinking about it. I messaged some of my mates to have a listen too. Chris sounds better than ever and if the lyrics on the rest of the album match these it's going to be stunning. The melodies are there and the hooks are as strong as ever. This track shows the band building on the strengths of "A Rush Of Blood To The Head", creating and trying new techniques and sounds. The increased boldness of their sound shows the band are not willing to stand still, stagnate and simply rehash previous material, but the progression doesn't seem alien to their earlier work. "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" was a huge step forward from the elegant and often beautiful "Parachutes" - if this track is anything to go by they may well have done it again. I could tell you that i loved it the first time i heard it. i could also tell you that i have heard it at least a thousand times. Then i could tell you that i am listen to it right now. There is one line in the song that perfectly describes the song. " when you see it then you will understand." Listen and become addicted. If the rest of this album is half this good then, this is going to be one those rare good years.
