------ performed by Coldplay

This a great song, although how Rick got the idea of it being about God may have been reading too far into it. Realllly far.

Rick, what exactly are you thinking? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/2007

As I read the previous review written by Rick Dayton, I almost had to laugh. I do agree with you in the fact that the song is published to discuss the complex problems that life throws at us, but the part about the phrase "You are," got me. How can you correlate the phrase "You are," with the infamous "I am," spoken by God to Moses. Just because you found a phrase that differs only in present to past tense, does not relate them to each other. Martin could mean almost anything from saying, "You are."
Also, God's greatest gift to us is Jesus Christ. Granted, his love for us is a gift we can take pride in, but sending his own son to die for us was of more significant value, would not you agree? When you wonder why no one else has thought of this, maybe you should consider your theory again.
All this to say, I think Clocks is an excellent song.

The loss of innocence | Reviewer: David | 9/17/2007

To me this song is about losing your innocence and knowing you can never go back.Life can bring you to your knees with pain and heartache.Making you wish sometimes that you could return to the innocence of your childhood.

The Ticking Crocodile | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/27/2007

"This song makes me feel like home. That's the only word I can think of to describe it."

You took the words right out of my mouth.
Whenever I hear this song, I feel better. No matter how good or bad I'm feeling, it gives me a sense of home and calm.
It's probably one of my all-time favorite songs, and that's saying something, I'm very choosy in that area.

Clocks | Reviewer: Alex | 8/13/2007

Clocks is Coldplay's #1 selling single so far... And it's not easy to see why. Memorable guitar melody, drum rythm and lyrics.

A Magical enchantment | Reviewer: Doris | 8/13/2007

I first listened to this song recently, played on the Puerto Rican radio stations. It was the version included in the latest Buena Vista Social Club CD. I was told about coldplay and searched for it immediately. This song has the magical power of connecting with the soul. To me it is somewhat bittersweet... it can also represent the passage from physical life to spiritual life. The music is undescribably touching, ethereal and intense. The lyrics make me reflect about taking advantage of every opportunity before it is too late. But then, it will never be too late because at the end, there is always going back home, a home we sometimes fear and when we are close to, or have had near death experiences, know it is embraced by an overwhelming feeling of PEACE. Bravo for Clocks!

Clocks is really a Heavenly Song | Reviewer: Rick | 8/10/2007

This song is easy to understand the many conflicts of life and looking for the meaning of life. The more complex and ingenious meaning is found in the numerous beautiful and harmonic repititions of the chorus "You Are"

I truly believe the singer is saying GOD EXISTS / YOU ARE.... God said I AM and the singer is saying YOU ARE.

It is stated this song is about love and of course Gods Greatist gift is his love for us.

I love the midi I found for this song. I transposed it to a key in my range and a harmonizer for an truly heavenly chorus.. After singing it a few times the "TRUE" meaning is obvious. And Home (Heaven) is where everyone wants to go..

I can't believe no one else understands this?

- Rick, Dayton, OH

Classic | Reviewer: Walt | 7/13/2007

A classic from the day it was released. Even here in Zimbabwe it's still popular. Again very popualr in South African shopping malls. I play it over and over and over again but it's a new song all the time..
