For some time now, while attending church services on Sunday, I have sensed a great presence of the Holy Spirit. We sang this song during praise and worship this past Sunday and I broke down and cried, but I probably needed to do that in a way! Ever since then I have been singing Chorus 1 and Chorus 2 in my head and it helps me during anxious times and to take my mind off things I don't have control over and don't even want in my head. The song has reveal alot to me about God's greatness and His awesome majesty. My fist experience was at "THE EXPERIENCE" December 2008 edition at the largest africa gospel concert in Lagos Nigeria with about 500,000 people in attendance with the likes of Don Meon, Donnie Mc., Tye T.,Mary Mary etc. God confirmed how great He is, when He showered us with rain and worshipper started proclaiming His greatness in the rain which lasted more than 4 hours, all we could sing and see then was "HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD". It was a real Experience in His presence. The lyric is powerful on it own. And when our teacher asked us to sing the song even if we don't know the song and there is the lyrics in a screen anyways... so the boys sang very loudly and us, girls, we sang as sweetly as we can but we can't be heard because the boys are like shouting already... so this is the story how I knew the song. So for me the song is mainly about how really great God is He is our Father, He is the Spirit and He is the Son who Saved us from sin. In the first verse for me is mainly about we need to rejoice so that darkness will hide and tremble if we pray. The second verse for me is He is always there since the start of the universe then He is the Father Spirit and Son He is also the "Lion" and we are "Lamb'. And the first chorus for me is God is very great and we should sing His praises and we should share the Gospel. And the second chorus is about He is the greatest name that we should say always and He is worthy to have all praise and we will sing how really great is our God. This song really touched me when I first heard it. It teaches us really that how great is our God and how we really need to praise Him. And there's no other God than Him. So I'm very thankful for my school who introduced this very beautiful song. And I'm glad that I have God to protect me in my trials and hardships with my classmates this song really reminds me about God who is really great!!!
