A truly increadible band.... | Reviewer: Zeenith | 4/16/07 Children of Bodom is a fabulous example of perfect musician ship in all asspects of the songs. I started listening to the band a couple of months ago, and have realized the amazzzzzing blend of melodic and symphonic metal that has classical roots, to put that to music is turly a great musical acomplishment. Iam a drummer and listing to Jaska on the drums shows how even more increadible they are, the double base is so fast and tight with the base and I love the creativity he has by not sticking to the normal metal druming. Same for the keyboards and guitars. They have flawless exicution and the best guitar work I have ever heard. They must be awesome live. What Im going to say now some of you all will probably want to have the reaper that they talk about in there lyrics come and kill me or something. But these guys are insane, in a bad way. The lifestyles that these musicians lead espacialy Alexi is screwed over. The influence they have on people like you and I is very negitive and they know it and dont care. In Bodom Beach Terror after the song Alexi says "my pain is constant and sarp and I would not hope for a better world for anyone, infact I want my pain to be inflict on others." Who do you guys think others are, US. Also there lyrics are so full of hate and death,DEAthyould you want to listen to something that uplifts that. And all the hate and anger that comes out of that music comes from real pain that occured in the band members lives. + the fact that they are complete drug adicts just like almost any metal band, they use it in there lyrics as a escape from there lives, which has a BAD and NEGITIVE influece on US.Does it bother any of you guys that the pervrty, death, hate, anger, and just playing weird lyrics are published and said for billions of ears around the world to hear, the sad part is that these dark subjects dont care, its what they want. Thank fuck his friend saw him before it was too late. Otherwise Children of Bodom would probably not exist. I haven't listened to one yet and thought 'what a load of shit'. It's a bit difficult for me to grasp the general narrative and/or subliminal messages within the lyrics but it doesn't stop me enjoying them. Alexi Laiho's shredding is immense, as is everything else in the band. Lordi kicked ass at the Eurovision Song Contest last month. Can you just imagine how much ass kicking Children Of Bodom would do? But then, after Lordi's success then many other countries could try and enter a metal band but fuck it, all the more viewing pleasure for Metalheads continent-wide such as me. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking these musings. COB | Reviewer: Me | 5/7/06 I am indeed a Child Of Bodom. Like the reviewer below has stated, Children Of Bodom SHOULD change your entire life. They are so amazingly virtuostic it's incredible. Alexi Laiho is a awesome shredder and the double bass drumming, heavy deep bass, keyboards and the other interlocking guitar creates a unique sound for the band. Cross the Melodic Death metal aspect of In Flames with the Power Metal sound of Sonata Arctica and that sums up Children Of Bodom's sound. Awesome incredibly complex guitar work! Pounding drums! Super fast keyboards! I LOVE this band. The lyrics focus solely on death and the grim reaper. If you like power metal you'll like Children Of Bodom. Alexi Laiho's growling takes little while to get used to, but soon you'll enjoy them trust me! The music is so fabulous how could you NOT listen to them?! :-) And if you like Melodic Death (In Flames, Soilwork, Arch Enemy... etc) you'll love this band straight away. Concert feb 5th 06 - Stockholm | Reviewer: Dreed | 3/19/06 This is definitly a band that can change your life. The first album i bought was hatebreeder and i just coulden't stop listening to it. If you haven't heard them then you haven't heard true pleasure for thy ears. And Live they are even better so you could say you haven't seen them untill you have seen them live. The show at stockholm was fricking amazing they even ate sasuages while recording live and all the great songs where there. I can't wait till the DVD comes out.... to say it in short BUY IT!!!
