The Reviews about Your Love Is Extravagant (page 1/ 4)
------ performed by Casting Crowns

... His love is all I need | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/22/09

... Like those entries before me I'm prompted to write and here am I.
I wake up with the lyrics of the song in my mind. It is a comfort a drastic overwhelming fact that Christ is my God. And in His LOve is more than enough through all life's pain, struggle and trials. It wont change, it is unconditional, mine forever! Mine to cherish and to hold.

Reformation | Reviewer: Havaar | 10/21/09

This song is Great. The trouble is people we have watched too much of telly and Not been in the word as much as we should be. Falling in Love with GOD is amazing, i fantasize about being in his arms so much sometimes iam crying and then i just spread my arms out close my eyes and say God embrace me give me that blessed assurance that even here in the Valley of the shadow of death, YOU are With me.

Worship | Reviewer: Red | 6/18/09

I am not elequent in writing nor in speach, but I was prompted to write a review. I have struggled with sexual sin, I also rest in the fact that God said that He was the lover of my soul. I learned the hard way not to put God in a box. He can and will be what ever a person needs. Sexual sin is not rooted in the physical, it is rooted in the inner most parts of a person, their soul. The person underneath all that we pretend to be. I love this song!!! I can and do worship God with it. When Moses was telling God that he could not do what God was asking of him...what did God tell him? I am that I am...what ever excuse Moses was going to give God...God was telling him that He the creator of all things was that the thing that Moses or I or YOU feel keeps us from being all God has for us to be or doing all that God has called us to do, God is that that we need. And when you are in sexual sin you do feel it is a need not a want. God is extravagant in his love for me, I do become intoxicated by his love for me...if you have ever entered in to worship with your heart soul and mind than you were intoxicated with his love as well, we all experience Him differently because we were created that way, but when His anointing falls and all is stripped away and you are worshiping Him the words to a song that offend the world will not matter. They will begin to wonder about this love, about this intoxication and be drawn to HIM. This is a song of Worship and should be used to Worship our God and King, the lover of our souls.

No greater love | Reviewer: trist | 4/20/09

I think the only reason one would consider this song inappropriate is because we have minds that run quickly to sin. I am learning more and more each day that the greatest love one has is with God and this song is an echo of that. It's unfortunate that our minds are polluted so to often the first thing we consider when we hear the song is sex, which tries to imitate that "intimacy" that we have with Jesus.

Browsing through some of the posts ... | Reviewer: GloriaJH | 11/9/08

These words are from the heart of the song writer to the awesome God of the universe.

His love for us was so Extravagant that He paid for my sin just so I/we could be in fellowship with Him.

I'm reminded of the verses in Philippians 4:8,9 for us to think on things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute - and if there is any excellence, and anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

This Song was written to the Lord God and attributing it to anything else doesn't follow the prescription for God's peace as in Philippians 4:8,9 IMHO.

I would imagine that if the songwriter has read some of these posts his/her heart is very sad.

Perhaps not a good song for teens. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/15/08

The problem I see of the song is that young people today, even Christian young people, don't recognize the boundaries regarding premarital sex, or living together outside the bonds of marriage. Teens, especially, are looking for opportunities to enforce their thinking regarding this situation. Perhaps, because of the day and times in which we now live, more thought should have been put into this song by Casting Crowns. We should never give any ammunition to the devil in regards to young and impressionable minds and hearts. We just sang the song for the first time in our services and really, I hope it's the last. There are so many more song without controversy.

toxic | Reviewer: rosie | 2/19/08

While some no doubt can worship to this song, it is unjust to those who have struggled with sexual sins in their past to use it in worship services. Some people need to be more considerate of their weaker brethren. And of course, "intoxicating" does come from the word "toxic", which is purely negative in connotation.

Amazing | Reviewer: Cindy Bader | 12/12/07

Amazing song. God's love is just amazing, no relationship in the world deserves efforts from us like our relationship with God, but he just simply loved us so much.
everyone that experiences this relation will be living a new different blessed life.
amen

Just Like us | Reviewer: Jason | 11/26/07

Isn't just like us to argue over something silly like the context of a song. If we don't know we should ask the artist what there intent is. If we are not satisfied don't support the artist because of your conscience because that would be sin. However, if we ask casting crowns what there interpertation of the song was meant we would find the true meaning and not cause other's to stumble or keep a friend who doesn't know Jesus from experiencing the wonderful Love of his grace that cover's our sin through calling on him to be Lord and having a Personal(intimate) relationship with Him. God Bless
