This is a great song | Reviewer: Nancy | 1/30/08
I love this song because it constantly reminds to love others, to teach about His Word and to tell others about Him. Every time I listen to this song, I feel I'm not a good enough follower of Christ and it makes me want to do better
Inspiring | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/29/08
My two friends and I came back from a missions trip totally on fire for God. We had such a desire to spread the word and be the hands and feet of Christ. We decided to start a group independent of our youth group. While determining the name and game plan of this group, we heard this song on the radio. We all loved it, and it inspired us. When it ended we had tears in our eyes. Our group is called The Body and we are dedicated to fulfilling all things mentioned in this song. We want to be His arms reaching, His hands healing, His words teaching, His feet going, and His love showing the way. It’s been hard, and we’ve felt the set backs of our youth, we are 15-17. Yet we listen to this song and know that we are doing the right thing. Thank you Casting Crowns for this powerful message.
What if...You're not the body?! | Reviewer: nate taylor | 12/22/07
It is strange how many people will see the inconsistancies of the so called church and really never acknowledge what they see. What most people see and hunger for is not what is being manifested in "church"! Always an excuse for our human faults....basically making excuses.
The question that I want to propose to you is...what if you're not the body?! I asked a person just yesterday.....If you could raise your own church...what would it be? She said more like what the bible teaches! I said absolutely.
Is there a group of people that live like that?
I would say so.....in fact I know so! They are not "Christians" in the sense that we know today. In fact...If you are a die hard and you refuse to acknowledge the lack of evidence produced by the "church" you will be greatly offened by what they have to say...as I was....at first. Look...its simple...if the body isnt reaching...teaching..healing...going...everything that this song states...its probably not the true body....right? So would you be willing to visit a people who were doing all these things? Living a life set apart...bearing the fruit as described biblically? I am not ashamed...I call them friends and visit regularly....for the last 4 years. I have not joined for two reasons...1 Im very selfish and 2) I was burned by my so called "christian" brothers that Im not in a hurry to just jump into something! If you're truly a seeker and you're tired of... well you know! Then go visit the Twelve Tribes(the commonwealth of Isreal)....day or night...the door is Always open. Visit their web site at www.twelvetribes.org or call 1-888-twelvet. I like good conversation as well so feel free to mail me:)younglionstkd@hotmail.com

Permission to publish portion of song | Reviewer: Jennifer | 12/4/07
Teach Services Inc. is a Christian Book Publishing company. We are currently working on a new title in which the author of the book would like permission to use a small portion of this song. The portion he'd like to use is this: "If we are the body, why aren't His arms reaching." What steps do I need to take to get permission to use this in his book?

based on an old poem? | Reviewer: Jim | 11/11/07
Does the composer acknowledge the source of his inspiration for the song? If I didn't know better I'd swear it was based on a prayer by the Catholic Saint, Teresa of Avila (1515–1582):
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
Both convey a fantastic message that needs to be heard: Preach the truth in love, with word and deed.
Peace

what i think... | Reviewer: Eveline | 11/10/07
I absolutely love this song... It's a constant reminder to me to not judge other persons. The song is all about that. Judging right? And the love we are to have for others who don't know about God... We are supposed to be a living testimony, and one way to do that is accept people the way they are. To not judge them. I don't think this song is talking about homosexuality. It's just talking about all the things in general that we judge people for. Sometimes people come to church and sadly they don't find the love, that a Christian is to have for the "neighbor" as Jesus said. They just see that everyone is cold, and not very friendly, and worse yet, they look at them weird. I think it's so sad when that happens.
And I'm not saying that I'm not guilty of doing this. I am still a human, and i probably judge a lot, still. But I try to avoid doing it. Because I wouldn't want someone to judge me either. It's doing onto others the way you would want to be treated.
What a burden | Reviewer: DM | 11/8/07
This song has a message to everyone that hears it, HOW each person interprets that message is key--don't you agree?
As a man, I really don't enjoy being reminded about my shortfalls by the Bible and hearing that my faults are sins against God from Pastors. Honestly, who would? I like to consider the verse "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" when I think someone is trying to be holier than thou. What a great hiding place for me that verse is when I start to feel convicted about my sins. I don't want to think that Jesus is using some imperfect man or woman to talk to me about what I'm doing wrong. He wouldn't do that to me, would he? They are way too imperfect. These people lie, they cheat and they are greedy, they are sinners too. Plus they couldn't understand my side of it, they don't have the same problems I do. If they were truly of the Body then wouldn't they have the courtesy to just leave me alone? They shouldn't think this Great Commission thing applies to my challenges in life, should they? Jonah knew about those sinful people and didn't want to go, isn't that how people should be nowadays? http://www.gotquestions.org/Book-of-Jonah.html
Paul, on the surface your challenge is an easy one to issue. If the world wants to allow the absence of the word "tithe" in the New Testament as justification to not give to the Body then I recommend they continue to do so. It is no man's place to judge and in the end, when it counts, no man will. I recommend this source to any biblical questions regarding tithing. I would offer Jesus' words from Matthew 5:17 where He said that He did not come to abolish the Law or Prophets but to fulfill them. The question begs to be asked, why did He bother to teach those old Mosaic laws to His disciples if they were no longer in effect. I Love Him so much that if I can contribute to keeping a worship service open or a back row in good repair either through my handiwork with a hammer or monetarily then I want to give to Him as I hear His Word speaking to my heart.

I am no one to you but I offer my apologies if any imperfect person has made you feel bad about your sin.
