My own understanding... | Reviewer: Nicky | 11/30/08
I'm no exactly a Christian.. or of any faith for that matter, I'm an Atheist.
But this song touches my heart... there's a girl that I am in love with right now.. and.. I can't be with her.
There are many things I would love to say to her from day to day in person but I have to work hard at my life just now before I hopefully spend the rest of my life with her.
For me the song describes her..
Probably many Christians will say that this song is about reaching out to those who have lost faith in God but for me... it really is a reminder that I have to put the work in so that I can reach out to her... and repay for all the time I've missed with her.
I love her to pieces. I hope many others won't disagree or in anyway tell me I'm wrong because this is a song with Christian meanings but... for me it's about being with her..
The first time I heard
"He is running, a hundred miles an hour, in the wrong direction." I almost started getting tears in my eyes..
But anyway, that's all I really had to say.
Praying for Hannah | Reviewer: Joyce | 11/23/08
Hannah, I hear you and I see you. You may not be in the shadow of our steeple here but you have illustrated something here that we all need to see. It's not just those on the outside of the church walls that are "going down today". Your honesty in what you wrote shows that we have folks within our walls "going down today. Under the shadow of our very own steeples." There are lost and lonely people within the walls of our church and we Need to reach out to one anther... not in judgment but in love. Remembering all the while that "but for the grace of God go I." None of us is immune to what you described. Look out if you think you are. Hannah, I don't know you but I am praying for you to reach for God's hand and look for the way out of your temptation.. The one that God promises in 1 Cor 10:13. Blessings to you! Joyce
Touched | Reviewer: Brooke | 11/10/08
I truly love this song. i nearly cry everytime I hear it. It really does show the struggles that people can face with temptations from the world.
I feel that the world is really trying to draw me to it at the moment. It's really hard to stay away, but everytime I hear this song it makes me realise what a great God we have and how truly Blessed I am!
Everyone struggles, and I know that God would never put anything on me if he knew I couldn't handle it! Even if you stumble, jest lean on God and he will get you through your storm! :)
about me | Reviewer: Hannah | 11/4/08
This song is so exactly about my life right now it just blew me away when I heard it. I do feel like I have a cold heart, I am longing for shelter and affection that I'm not getting from my husband, and I just found a prince charming to commit adultery with. Funniest part, I teach Sunday school every week and the people around me have absolutely no idea how much pain and turmoil I am in. Not one person has asked me why my husband isn't in church with me or how I'm doing or even just said "hi" to me. It's a tough place to be right now.
open your mouth | Reviewer: Dustin Jasper | 9/28/08
This song reminds us of how we need to be looking around us for people to share with. Too many people have tunnel vision, or they just don't want to get involved. When he gets to the scarlet letter part, I cry because people just want to judge instead of help. They forget they were there once themselves. We need to be always ready to stop in time of need. Great job Casting Crowns. May God Bless you in everything you put your hand to. I think their songs are the best of any christian artist because I think they go the extra mile to spend time with God, because there seems to be an anointing on their songs.

This song makes me sad every time i hear it. I'm struggling like crazy right now, this world is getting to me. There is some people who act like they are right with God. Weather they want to hide something, or they're struggling. But on the inside they are crazy struggling, either by choice or they are just getting sucked into this world.

just to think | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/30/08
this song really does show us that even as christians, we're not perfect. no matter how much we that we think we are "better" people because of the standards we hold ourselves to.
every time we pass judgment on someone as we walk by them on the street or cross them in the school hallway, we sin.
whatever we have decided to think was a bad sin they committed, we're sinning by passing judgment on them.
instead we should reach out. and not just on sundays at church. everyday. be the hero.
it really just makes you think. we all make mistakes.

Gods is awsome | Reviewer: Britt | 4/10/08
This song is very touching. It goes to show just how much christians these days are to cuaght up with themselves and their own church to realize that we are here toreach out to the lost souls of this earth. The song presses well to me anyway, that there people that we walk by everyday or shun because of reasons when and they don't know God and all it takes is for us to stop and start talking to them. Maybe through that we could bring them to Christ.
