Wow...every time that I listen to some of there songs im stuck in ah...not only are they great musicians but great poets. A, Q, and Save Us are 3 of my all time favorite songs, they inspire me to do something, something that has a higher meaning, I can't just sit and listen to this song like I can others. I also like how on this one they include the lyric 'all we can do is prey' on the other two songs on this cd about this subject they never actually claimed they were talking about God. But this is practically saying(in my point of view) that we can only ask God to save us, and personally we are the only ones able to find the answer, taht is, the answer to life, which is God.

usually, when you ask a person what his or her favorite song is, the most common reply is "i really can't choose!" if you were to ask me, however, i would tell you that my all-time favorite song is A by cartel. this is the only song that has ever made me cry for no reason, and i have most definitely listened to it more than any other song, regardless of the length. it puts me to sleep at night, puts me in a better mood when i'm sad or upset, calms me down when i'm angry, or makes me feel even better when i'm happy. this song is amazing, and it has been my favorite for a few years now. if i am passionate about any music, it is this band, especially this song.
so thank you cartel, for making such truly astounding music.
love, jill.
A - What it's About | Reviewer: Matt | 11/26/08
The final line of this song, Kevin, is actually a lyric written by Brian Wilson for a Beach Boys song called, "I Know There's an Answer." Will Pugh has said in interviews before that one of his main influences in writing for Cartel is Brian Wilson (appropriately). Brian Wilson's "SMILE" is a critically acclaimed concept album, and one of the main themes on that album is recurring melodies and lyrics throughout the movements of the work. One can only assume by observing the Brian Wilson lyric in "A" and the re-emerging of melodies/lyrics from previous songs on the record (Q, Burn This City, Save Us) that Will Pugh was trying to pay some kind of creative tribute to Brian Wilson's influence on Cartel through this fantastic showcase of songwriting that is "A."

Cartel is the best. It defines the rock/pop/emo generation which we are in it symbolizes rebeling. i feel that Cartel is the epiphany of the music scene. It has the appeal that teenagers look for as well as a new wave techno sound.

A meaning | Reviewer: Kevin | 7/26/07
The last two tracks, Q and A are abbreviated for question and answer. A is meant to represent the answer, the relief that you feel when you finally know the answer to the questions. Beautiful final line.
