Always, ALWAYS loved this song. Then, just read about a girl that graduated from Harvard (and is now giving back to the community) after being homeless as a teen. Her mom died as drug addict, her dad was in a homeless shelter. She mentioned that this song gave her inspiration during the time that she was out on the street trying to figure out how to get an education. Gives it a whole new meaning and makes it even more awesome!

this song is the awesomest.see it's so good i have to make up word to describe this...this..master piece. the guys just saying the lyrics all normal like yet every word seems to SCREAM out AWESOMENESS. this song is like totally old but the classics are always the more intense songs out there. AHHHHHH the song just says so much but i'm still having trouble finding out what it means...for me.(my own definition) =9

The way I feel about this song..

I was in a long distance relationship, the girl lived 45 minutes away, I guess it isn't that far away, but still, a ways.

This girl had once longed for a boy she is still very much attached to. Even now. I would drive that 45 minutes across the prairie roads, just to see her and hold her, to be with her.

In some sections the roads are quite tight, especially during the winter time, where there is slush, and hellish drifts. I by no means have a top notch vehicle that can plow through such drifts.. it's a two bit vehicle. I've had some close calls with death, but I loved her so much..

I still do..

but her previous ex.. before I.. is planning to reunite with her..

So it leaves me out in the cold.. no trophy for me, sadly..

Love this song, I love Cake.

My dad now refers to this as my 'new favorite song.' I love all of his CDs from the 80s and even the 70s, the stuff he listened to are the best. Ilove his cassettes but this is my all time favorite song. Every time it comes on I stop whatever I'm doing just to listen to it. It's great.

This song is AMAZING to listen to when I need to get pumped up for a track meet, or even if I'm just running down the street it gets me motivated and in the zone. I also just love the intro...
