The Reviews about Oh, You are the Roots That Sleep Beneath my Feet and Hold the Earth in Place (page 1/1)
------ performed by Bright Eyes
quick interpretation | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/18/2008This song gives me the chills and I'll give an interpretation- however wrong it may be.
The person that he's singing about is a constant figure of love and admiration from his past...possibly 'the one who got away'.
I think the ship story relates to how he travels everywhere but its still this one person who he always cares for and helps him feel some kind of inner peace knowing they exist.
PLEASE PLEASE someone correct me- I'd love to know what all the imagery means like the second to last verse with curtains etc.
amazing. | Reviewer: hannah | 3/6/2008
to be honest, i still haven't heard this song so i couldn't give you a very accurate opinion. but i just like to read the lyrics. they remind me of someone i know. conor oberst is amazingly talented with a pen.
