The Reviews about Landlocked Blues (page 1/ 3)
------ performed by Bright Eyes

Landlocked Blues | Reviewer: Dakota | 8/26/09

I want to cry every time I hear this song because, although it could have several different meanings within the song, it makes complete sense to me. When I hear this song, everything just seems...the way it should. This song takes a toll on me.

tired of being stuck | Reviewer: Natasha | 8/24/09

I've read through a lot of these reviews and its intriguing to me to see other peoples interpretation of "Landlocked Blues". It is a very. insightful, well written and contemplative song in which I believe is about being stuck wherever you're at in your life. Whether its in a relationship of any sort or a mindset. Oberst never fails to convey his poetic genius for such common human emotions and put them into a story we can all understand on some level in which they pertain to our own lives.Genius

Thank you. | Reviewer: DB | 7/22/09

I don't know why i want to comment. I usually would never do this. But Conor Oberst's poetry helped me grow up more than anything or any one else. I owe it to him to give my thanks at least this once. So thanks Conor. I hope I can make at least one person see the beauty that you have helped me see.

"But if the world could remain within a frame, like a painting on a wall; then I think we'd see the beauty then and stand staring in awe, at our still lives posed, like a bowl of oranges."

This is what we've become. | Reviewer: Annie | 6/22/09

so i started listening to this song, and about two lyrics in i sat in complete amazement of the beauty and truth and raw emotion. as i continue to listen i realize that it is exactly what my relationship has become. i was trying so hard not to cry. then just when i thought i wouldn't cry the lyric hit me "and laura's asleep in my bed". laura is my girlfriend's name. then i cried.

I know I'm leaving but I don't know where to | Reviewer: Josh | 3/22/09

I've been listening to bright eyes the past 4 years and when i take the time to listen to these words it takes me back. The way the lyrics flow inspire my own as a poet.

"So I'm up at dawn, putting on my shoes
I just want to make a clean escape
I'm leaving but I don't know where to
I know I'm leaving but I don't know where to"

Where should i go? i keep asking myself.
what should i listen to,
my heart or my mind?

amazing. | Reviewer: cody | 2/24/09

The first song I heard by conor was, "lover I don't have to love." I didn't like the song or him at first, then I kept hearing it and I would listen to it and other songs and it was like he knew what I wanted to say, even when I didn't. I have heard all of his songs and "landlocked blues" is by far my favorite. I have walked away a lot in my life and I now wish I hadn't. I just wish everyone would listen to this song and feel the way that I and so many others feel when it comes on. For me it evokes every emotion I have ever felt in my life. Even though he won't see this, I just want to say thank you conor for making such poetry.

love. | Reviewer: Jessica | 12/3/08

i love the line, "if you love something, give it away" i can relate to this song as can practically everyone. its lyrics are beautiful and powerful... straight to the heart and to the heart of problems here, in the US and all around the world. It makes you think why kids should be playing with tree branch guns. taking something so natural, so beautiful... refering to both the tree and the child... and corrupting them to the the veiw of the world today. Its sad and makes me water up every time, the power of these lyrics.

The landlocked blue
Is more insightfull and aspiring. That any.
Both seperate ways. We all walk. We all don't or know wich way we going. Doesn't matter cause the worlds still going to be watching from the audience seats. Make a show or don't even show at all. So if you walk away ill walk away. This song to me says more than poetry.
I've yet to excist.
But still I percist

heartache | Reviewer: Emily | 3/5/08

This song is a perfect incarnation of my deceased relationship. The addition of Etta James compliments Connor's pained voice beautifully, it really gives the song an easy to relate to, raw, human quality. Thank you for such a cathartic song. Music can say and think things better than I can, and this song is an example of this. I love this song, I only wish it was for slightly different reasons.

chaos is a friend of mine | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/15/08

This song reminds me about alot about my past.

My sister being named laura.
She moved across to the other side of the world.
It was really upsetting. Every two years when we see each other, it's really hard to say goodbye again.
Also, "the worlds got me dizzy again".
She was the only person that could relate to my panic attacks. she knew what it felt like being trapped inside your own mind.

I know conor has different intentions for this song.
The thing is, it's whatever you want it relate too that makes it more interesting.

ciao.
