It's just a shame that he appears to have had only one good album in him and a bunch of average ones. Still, I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is fantastic and at least he got it all together for one moment of unadulterated brilliance. I think it has something to do with Emmylou Harris. It's pretty much just an honest meditation on the mental state of Conor Oberst and his thoughts on the world, and it's sad and beautiful and amazing all at once. "Well I could have been a famous singer If I had some one else's voice But failures always sounded better Let's fuck it up boys, make some noise!" think about it yea. also like one of the ones i read she wanted like good for conor but she didnt want everyone to know about him yea? she wanted him to feel special to her? ya i think it really sucks now that he is getting bigger because now you walk around school and hear girls go "ew bright eyes the sound like they're crying" and like "ew emo fags" and stuff liek that when they have nooo idea what words they are turning down. just though i would put that out there. sorry for any typos ahah.
