Bright Eyes the bottom of everything | Reviewer: donaldson47@gmail.com | 8/21/08
while my mother water`s plants my father loads his gun.....what an ingenious piece of song writing .I had been introduced to Bright Eyes before ,but didn`t think much of them ,then I watched and listened to this video on you tube and this song is outstanding.Very clever lyricist!###<<<>>.
amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/11/08
this song is so sick. the conors voice is almost emo, the music is bluegrassy, the lyrics sound like a 90s alternative song, and somehow that cacophony of mayhem makes something beautiful. plus, the chords are easy enough that i could sing and play it after one run through! bright eyes is now one of my favorite bands.
awesome | Reviewer: katie | 1/29/08
This song is so great. It's funny how I think that its like supposed to be a sad song, yet it has the opposite effect for me.
I think that, judging by the music video, it means that death is something that comes along with living and you just have to embrace it and learn to be okay with it because there is no way of getting out of dying.
Basically, this is song is amazing.
Real emos. | Reviewer: Shannon | 1/15/08
It's a pretty good song. I was saying to my friend the other day "If you think Fall Out Boy is associated with emos, you're wrong. Those are surface emos. Real emos listen to Bright Eyes."
Yes. I am proud to admit I am part emo. Mind you, part.
heroes | Reviewer: Jason | 1/15/08
just like everyone else here, i have to say its a brilliant song, bright eyes isn't my usual style of music but i heard "Road to Joy" on the Heroes season 1 DVD, and since i obsess over everything heroes i looked up a bit more of their music and found this, i watched the video on youtube and at first i was like ahhh run, emo band! but in the end i had a huge smile on my face and its surprisingly a very feel-good song :D and a side note, is it just me or does conor oberst look like a younger emo-er peter petrelli, it kinda creeps me out actually :D
thanks
joy | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/30/07
everytime i hear this song, and he gets to the line: "And then we'll get down there,
way down to the very bottom of everything
and then we'll see it, oh we'll see it, we'll see it, we'll see it."
i can not help but become overcome with joy and happiness.
the next lines after that just put the cherry on top of it all, it is an amazingly written song.

Crazy song... | Reviewer: Peter Keegan | 12/31/07
This is the first song I ever heard by Bright Eyes, and it is probably the best. There is something about the pure kind of rawness about the recording of the song that sets it apart from anything else that I have ever heard, and the music itself is so unique that I cannot tear myself away: I've been listening to it all day now, and I have the music video, which is like taking an acid trip while listening to the song--an acid trip with Anthony Hopkins in it. ^_^ And the really distinctive thing about this song is that it talks about death, and yet it makes you happy--an inexplicable, almost creepy thing.
Bitter Sweet : - ) | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/30/07
This song is a modern masterpiece really! This is the epitome of bitter sweet. More so, it seems that it may have much to do with the importance of bringing the world to realize that life is so genuine, and that there is more to life than everyone as a whole realizes. In other words, this song tells us that we all have a responsibility to one another all the while hinting to the reality of the thin line between life and death.
music, in itself. | Reviewer: molly | 10/20/07
It's a song. A beautifully written song, I might add. "Bright Eyes" has a completly different approach to all aspects of life.
The lyrics aren't 'moapy' and he isn't directly/literally saying 'commit suicide'. You missed the crucial point of the song if you think that.
We must have our own ideas. | Reviewer: a new day | 10/10/07
This is a brilliant song.
Flim clips quite the lark too..
Yeah, so obviously this song means the celebration towards knowing that are going to die. it's fantastic. If I'm ever going on plane and you know.. there's a huge mechanical failure. I'd probably shit myself.
Its pretty irrational that EVERYONE on the plane is singing and dancing, It's illogical.. Though that's what's amazing about it, It's conors own dipiction upon life balanced among everyone.
I think the bottom line is well done. I'm not sure exactly though I'm quessing he's saying he's just like everyone else on that plane.
Big Deal if your a split second to death. It only really affects the alive anyway.
