its about how he loved her so much and all she did was hurt him emotionally. i think hes expressing his newfound hatred towards her. she broke his heart and left him feeling empty.

i can relate to this song because a while ago my bf dumped me...for another girl, he was cheating on me pretty much the whole time but i just couldnt admit it because i loved him so much, even though he physically hurt me whenever he was in a bad mood. he kind of left a major hole inside of me and everytime i looked at him i just wanted to get inside of him and change the way he treats girls. over the few months iv been away from him hes been with a number of different girls and a few of them have come to me with either tears in their eyes or a grip mark on their wrists or arms. but anyway im with mike now and hes errfing awsome, i cant beleive i rejected him evry time he asked me!! hehe i love him to bits.

Breaking Benjamin “Breathe” speaks of the struggle of ones heart & mind.... someone who has given in to everything for this person & given all of themselves, only to have it returned with cruelty…they cant believe or even seem to come to terms that this person they love so much can be so hurtful and evil...part of them wants to tear them apart & at the same time try to reason with them, love them & find some good they thought they saw, yet at same time trying to get away from the pain they know is there...it's like poison in their mind driving them crazy & they're struggling for self-control...A poison that they want to get rid of yet they are somehow addicted to it, making it difficult for them to let go…waiting & praying for the merry go round to end...all along realizing they're starting to hate this person they have so much love for...knowing that now they've realized this it will soon end… no longer will they be poison in their head, but dead to them.

This song i can totally understand....I just got out of a Relationship.....Because i felt i would drive my bf mad...which i think i did.....i cant stop listening to this song....i love it...yet hate it at the same time since Breaking Benjamin is his favorite Band...

I totally understand this song. I am in a "relationship" now where I deeply love the girl I am with, but because she is so insensitive to my feelings and needs, it seems that with each day the endless fighting over things that don't even exist, except in her "damaged" mind, are making a side of me that hates her guts. You can only go so long doing all the giving, all the caring, all the loving, and not get crap back. My voice means nothing, but I'm supposed to cater to her every need. I should cut my losses. Nice guys "just can't win". Well, it's amazing how these lyrics parallel my feelings.

This song, to me, describes the past 3 months of hell I have been going through since my ex dumped me. I hear these lyrics and think of her...someone I thought I knew for 6 years turns into something completely...evil, yet still I want to save her.

it's hard to find out what breaking benjamin are singing about, but this is one of the easier ones..what think this song is about is reviving a friend of his. tell me if im wrong, but check this out:

I've been a Breaking Benjamin fan since they first came out but this song really tops the list. I'm still in the process of getting out of a bad relationship & everytime I hear this song I just cry. For a band to be able to explain everything you are feeling & going through in their lyrics is just amazing. Simply incredible! I hope that Breaking Benjamin stays together & continues to produce such quality music as this.

this song gives me goose bumps when it hits the main verse everytime. the diary of jane is a great song but this song kicks its ass its just simply amazing!!!!! alot of people can relate to this song
