meanings | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/6/09

I think it's true songs can have their own meaning for everyone, but I am also curious to what the writer (in this case Jesse) originaly was thinking of while composing the song :) but that does not mean that I don't have my own feelings and thoughts about a song, especially not songs that are made by Brand New.. I've never heard a band with such emotional, deep and complex lyrics and thats why I love them.. they go byond the obvious and just ad the extra little bit that many bands just miss..

This song hit me hard!!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/19/09

My Father was diagnosed with lung cancer about 8 years ago. He had surgery and remained in remission, the cancer never came back. He began to develop other lung diseases though, and after a long, difficult struggle, he passed away 4 months ago. My Dad was my best friend. I was there with him for years as he got sick, and spent 4 agonizing days by his hospital bed while he died. I had never heard this song until 2 days before he passed away. Almost every word relates to what I went through with my father and it still gives me chills to listen to it!! 20 minutes after he died I was handed his watch, which I had given him as a Christmas present, also which he NEVER took off. Although it's an incredibly painful thing to go through, this song could not have been better written!!!!

Real Meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/3/09

This song really is about his Grandfathers death. Well, really about when his Grandfather was dying and he was waiting for the phone call, he described it one time before playing it acoustic. However, I agree with most everyone else in the fact that you shouldn't concentrate so much on the meaning for Jesse Lacey as much as you should take out your own meaning and how it applies to your own life!!

Halie you're a dumb ass | Reviewer: Matt | 4/3/09

Halie you're a dumb ass. You call all brand new fans dumb because we dont see the symbolism between the song and the painting but the thing is, this song wasnt written about the painting. Do the world a favor and read about stuff before you open your mouth. You dont even have to search for it, read the comments here and learn something.

Wow. | Reviewer: Shelby | 3/30/09

I have always enjoyed Brand New's creations. From Jesus Christ to The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows. They are brilliant artists. I feel the emotion in thier music. This particular song is one of my favorties. Kudos to them. I hope they make tons more songs. The guys from Brand New, if you ever read this, your music has changed my percpective on life. Your music is absolutely amazing and I truely appriciate everything you guys have made.
Thank you.

how it makes me feel | Reviewer: Chris | 10/27/08

I love this song. I've recently been listenning to it ALOT lately because I found out last Thursday that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Though the lyrics are sad, they still help me get through the day. Espescially the line: You will beat this starting now and you will always be around. It gives me hope. Brand New will always remain my favorite band (though there are so many great ones out there). I have always been able to apply every one of their songs to my personal life and that is one of the qualities that Brand New has that I love about them!

Who Cares | Reviewer: Sam | 8/6/08

What an amazing song from the lyrics to the instrumentals to the vocals. That being said... who CARES what or whom it's actually about? Wouldn't you rather just apply the lyrics to your own experiences instead of always having the image of someone else's story in your mind when you listen to it? I hate how people get so mad at each other about who's right and what the song is really about, instead of just sharing in the experience of being fellow Brand New fans and music lovers. Just one girl's opinion.

Blew me a thousand miles away...and more. | Reviewer: Miki | 6/20/08

This song is truly amazing, like most of Brand New's creations. The lyrics take in such meaning. It can really relate to people who have a family member or friend in pain. :) love this song soooo much, and i love the lyrics, of course.
Brand New forever! We love you guys :)
