so yeah..beautiful song, and it speaks to me a lot right now. This kind of emotional truth is always breath taking when done right. It made me cry because it's just too appropriate to my life right now. But I really hope that the one I'm thinking of won't paint himself from my pictures.

Okay so first of all do NOT compare brandnew to linkin park and korn because they are simply put, awful.
brandnew is a band with true musical ability and this song is something that when you listen to it you wonder how the hell they got into your mind and if they were there when it happened to you.
awesome and genuine and absolutely refreshing.

...this song is my favorite song of all time. i'm still contemplating how jesse lacey can write a song, and i can relate to at least one verse no matter what mood i am in. if i wanted to, i might be able to get through life without saying a single word and just letting a brand new lyric play instead my voice box.

"There are SO many groups out there trying to be original, trying to materialise some kind of internalised trauma or turmoil; but it rarely works and in listening to this song; one really has to ask oneself where it is all going?
“Move out of the state”, get yourself a new record deal, work on your 'issues', and when you actually understand yourself enlighten the public; but until then be silent, please!"

and as for you, you need to be enlightened yourself. move out of the state? new record deal? issues? what's the point when they've released devil and god, a gold record according to billboard. i'm pretty sure that's solid enough to enlighten the public, you idiot. no need to be silent here.

This song is hardly the kind of music i generally listen to. I'm no Brand New fan...Not at all. But this song is purely and simply amazing. Not instrumentally--in that respect it's nothing special, and actually quite simple to preform...But that simplicity only seems to enhance the lyrics, which already hit home. Most emotional songs are either about relationships or about emo-ness (my life sucks! etc) but this one is neither. Yet, it seems to give emmotions a corporeal form that they otherwise would have a difficult time assuming. It's just vague enough where it can easily be applied to different personal situations without losing its power.

Priceless. This song is priceless.

Great Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/15/07

I really like this song. I love bands like this, that write music from the heart. They have lyrics full of emotion and meaning unlike other processed fake music that is so mainstream nowadays. Brand New is the band to listen to if you want to get emotional

Lyrics.. | Reviewer: Janettt | 2/19/07

It seems every Brand New song leaves me with the same feelings; awe and amazement. Their lyrics are so incredible and every single song by them (almost) gives me chills.
In this song I think it's the lines
"You are second hand smoke, you are so fragile and thing.. standing trial for your sins, holding on to yourself the best you can.. <b>You are the smell before the rain, you are the blood in my veins..</b>"
How much more powerful can you get?

I <3 This Song | Reviewer: Laura | 2/20/07

Eyal, if you don't like all this kind of music, why are you getting the lyrics...?
I personally love this song, another great and heartfelt song from Brand New! x

amazing-isnt it? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/10/07

I first payed attention to this song because it reminded me of this book twilight ( oh, and if u havent read...please do! worth your time), but as I focused on the words I realized it was so much more, the meaning and cmplexity of the emotions in this song blew me away. Truely amazing...

this is one of those songs that can really hit you if you know where the artist is coming from. makes you just sit there and listen and listen, gaining a deeper expression of your own feelings, and a well rounded insight on similar situations. one of my favorite songs!
