seventy times seven | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/17/07
In the bible there's a story about Jesus telling people to forgive each other "seventy times seven times". This song is all about being hurt in unforgivable ways, so it's ironic. Get it?
Names | Reviewer: Troy | 1/3/07
Does anyone happen to know why it was called Seventy Times Seven.
I got the whole fued of Jesse Vs. John down, but the title does make much sense to me...
anyone knew why its called what it is?
john nolan v. jesse lacey | Reviewer: brandnewlover | 5/8/06
the song is not about adam, but about john nolan. (in response to the review a few above.
Very good song!! | Reviewer: Derek | 12/23/05
I love the lyrics in this song. My wife recently cheated on me with my (former) best friend and then left me so this song is a good explanation of how I feel towards him. I love how they can just write out what they are thinking rather than make it sound all poetic-like.
Jessie Vs John Nolan | Reviewer: Caz | 11/28/05
This song is actually about the guitarist from Taking Back Sunday John Nolan, who is now the founder of a band called Straylight Run, not Adam! The feude happened when Jessie's girlfriend at the time slept with John, hence the meaning of this song. John phoned Jessie to tell him himself, but Jessie just reply'd with the words, "Is that what you call tact?, Your as subtle as a brick in the small of my back!, so lets end this call and end this conversation", that is why these lyrics are used in both Seventy Times 7 and also Theres No 'I' In Team. Marking the end of there relationship as best friends. Although jessie and John have now settled there differences and have also played both the songs together live on stage.
wicked song! | Reviewer: lauren | 1/26/05
i love the lyrics in this song, they are full of anger and show how jesse felt about what had happened to him. i like the idea of writing a song basically telling someone you hope they go and kill themselves as apposed to writing a song about how broken you are and how you have nothing left.
jesse vs adam pt.2 =D | Reviewer: Sparky | 1/1/05
ahh, i totally agree! you know that part about "youre as subtle as a brick..." in seventy times 7? one of the vocalists in TBS says that rather bitterly in the BG of There is no I in Team. listen up for it!
haha, the little emo kids probably cried writing these songs. =D
Jesse Vs Adam | Reviewer: Cusey | 11/7/04
for anyone who didn't know, or just to clear things up, this song is a "death wish" to jesse's good friend adam lazzara, lead singer with taking back sunday, after he slept with jesse's girlfriend. Now you understand all the crap bout best friends and shit! adam's come-back to the jesse's pretty vivid lyrics ("and again when your head goes through the windshield") was the song "There's No "I" In Team", which was probably worse than this-"best friends means i pull the trigger"? come on guys-can't we all just be friends? i mean he only went behind your back and did your girl...
nice | Reviewer: eldgedaone | 10/29/04
this song is good if you're really angry at someone who fucked everything up in your life. it basically expresses everything you'd want to tell someone who fucked it up, "i hope you choke and die." great for emotional times.
wickedly bitter | Reviewer: Megan | 7/4/04
Ahh, Jesse Lacey(who, might I add, is sex on legs), what would I do without my daily consumption of his bitter lyrics? I mean, they're so angry, it makes me laugh at times. But anyway, go emo kids! they make me happy...
