My friend gave me the reprisal version, which i thought was not that good, but this full version makes up for it. One of the best.
The title refers to a character from The Godfather, Luca Brasi, Don Corleone's most trusted and loyal personal enforcer.
"So we've fixed you with cement galoshes"
"Unless you have friends among fish, there'll still be no air to breathe."
these part of the lyrics refers to how Luca Brasi was killed, cement shoes. A Sicilian message was sent to the Corleone family: a fish wrapped in Brasi's flak jacket. The meaning is made clear to the Corleones: "Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes".

my favorite song on the new album, which is saying a LOT because i love this album so much. the first time i listened to it, i was painting, and when the scream came it scared the crap out of me, so i jumped and had to cover my mistake, but the song is incredible.
to jesse:
he does joke in the introductions, but the title of "the boy who blocked his own shot" is actually a reference to what his father used to jokingly call him when they would play basket ball as a family in their driveway when his was growing up.

i dont see it as something at the bottom of the ocean, or ditching a friend. its more like letting go forever something that is so precious too you, something you want soo bad but know you must never have.

'Luca’ which is a done up version of ‘Demo 6’ seems tedious until it dramatically scares the listener. Four minutes into the song and after pure acoustic music, feedback screeches aggressively into your ear and wakes you up to hear the full atmosphere of the song.

This song was written as a revenge song towards the people who leaked the DAGARIM demos. Thats the meaning.
When I disappear, it is clear I am up to no good

its about someone who is in a group of friends and they decide to kick him or her out of their little posse, read the lyrics again with that in mind and you will get what i mean

This scared the fuck out of me the first time I heard it.
Jesse | Reviewer: Jonty | 7/23/2007
Jesse has also introduced Degausser as "This song is about how you should go home and give all your money to the rich, it's called Seventy Times Seven"
Also the Boy Who Blocked his own shot as "This song is about a basketball player"
And Play Crack the Sky as "This song is about one time that the band went sailing and we all drowned"
I'm not sure you can take what he says too seriously really. He's a total legend tho.
