Song Title | Reviewer: bennyt | 7/16/11

The title didn't necessarily come from the bible, it could have also come from the end of the novella, "The Mysterious Stranger" by Mark Twain where this phrase is used. Obviously Twain got it from the bible, but to assume that Brand New got it from the bible rather than the novella by Twain seems uninformed and likely invalid.

awesome song. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/18/09

i'm a massive fan of brand new
but over the years they've been together
i prefer their more mature stuff now
like their new album Daisy or Deja Entundu,
it seems less punky and deals with issues better.

The Title meaning | Reviewer: Axyl | 9/7/09

Hey i had to do an assignment on three songs and i chose this one straight up.

For those of you who are wondering what seventy Times 7 actually means... It is a passage in the bible and is about forgiveness....Read the passage below

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

So yeah pretty much What "Jesus" is saying is that he should forgive infinite times

BTW i'm not religious or anything i think the bible is a load of crap

the real reason behind the song | Reviewer: ian | 12/12/08

john nolan slept with jesses girlfriend the two were good friends
and jesse called john and said
"And is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back.
So let's end this call, and end this conversation."
he said that to john and they both used it in the songs this, and theres no i in team by taking back sunday (john nolans band)

they're good friends now and play both songs together on stage

there is the facts about it

ok if you take the lyrics from this song,

"is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back.
So let's end this call, and end this conversation."

and then listen to taking back sunday's theres no i in team

"Is this what you call tact?
I you're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back so let's end this call,
and end this conversation "

yea same exact line... the two singers were really good friends back in the day and something happened where they werent friends anymore..... so i've herd... hope i helped...
when i herd the two songs it was kinda cool...

Seventy Times 7 - There's No 'I' Team | Reviewer: Kate Serrrgggggi | 6/15/07

Ok I'm confused now, It's about the feud that happened with Jesse Lacey.. and Either John Nolan or Adam lazzara? Ok so so i've read It's that Either John or Adam slept with Jesse's girlfiend of 7 years. Not only is these two song lyrics linked, but if you listen to the lyrics of the whole album they're all related to Cheating & Break-ups... Especially the video Great Romances Of The 20th Century.
Haha ok so i've had nothing to do all day and thought i would investigate on all this and read up a whole lot of net bullshit.
Anyyyywaay! I own That Taking Back Sunday Album and Jesse Lacey is mentioned on it to.
Ahhh saaaweetttt :D

I met Jesse about Week ago now!
He's really cute and actually heaps shy, the rest of the band members wanted to not talk to my friend and i but him and vinnie stayed and talked!

Thought i'd just share that with yous all..
Byeeeeeee
