Love | Reviewer: Brandnewww, | 12/29/08

I personally think this song is by far the best one i've heard, I think Jesse is trying to imply two meanings, love loss and friendship. the love loss would be referd to with the line 'You know that you are not alone, I need you like water in my lungs' water kills people when they have it in your lungs, so he wants to die basically because someone he loves has been murdered or something. When you truely listen to the song it shows true feelings towards whoever its dedicated to, No its not one of the songs by them that manage to bring tears to my eyes, but once i've listened to it, i start thinking, about how deep a meaning this song has,
Theres my imput.

i don't think there's just one correct meaning | Reviewer: patrick | 11/16/08

Clearly this song is very ambiguous. Just reading this discussion, it seems that in interviews and live shows, Jesse has given the song multiple meanings. I think there's probably one interpretation that means more to him than the others, possibly one he hasn't shared with us yet. However, I've always thought of it has telling the story of a desolate, heartbroken captain going out in the middle of a raging storm, not caring if he lives or dies, and possibly hoping for the latter. The love of his life has died, and if he meets the same fate at sea, he will be with her again.

Titanic | Reviewer: Adam K | 11/1/08

i saw a video on youtube with clips from titanic while this song is playing... it goes together pretty well. the song "limousine" is about that drunk driver crashing into the wedding limousine killing those people... this could just as well be about the titanic.

to me... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/7/08

I originally had a few different views on how this song could be taken. Due to recent circumstances I feel that it goes as follows...

It is definately a metaphor for love lost. Everything was fine until that fateful night. The circumstances were beyond their control...they were forced to separate...torn apart. She's was then gone and therefore "dead" and he want's to die and rejoin her in a better place. But at the same time...he knows she only wants him to be happy and live. And for the end of the song he wants nothing more to rejoin her...but he only feels her pain and knows that he must go on anyway.

This is definately one of the best songs ever written.

un-needed | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/8/08

it seems like the ending of this song is about a girl that he loves but she doesnt need him and broke his heart and left him cold (maybe after he said something he didn't mean) and in a way she then became "dead" to him. and he re-itterates that this is what she wants (anyway)...and a funeral will for sure keep them apart... and just as he is something she doesn't need... she is not alone... because since now he is drowning there is water coming in his lungs (which he really doesnt need) so now "she is not alone"

did you know | Reviewer: Stephen | 3/5/08

about MONTAUK POINT (PROJECT)
it's suppose to be related with project Philadelphia, maybe you know, the missing ship and all.
about the song,i just love it, but only today i made the connection about Montauk Point, the boat and the rest of the lyrics. it's much deeper than you might think.but that's already 'deja entendu',isn't it?
just remember to smile,once in a while,ok? :)

pcts | Reviewer: Aiden | 2/3/08

i think that despite wat jesse said about the origins of the song, the words can be interpreted in a couple of ways.
and the ship wreck love story fits pretty well.
each to his own.
one of my favourite songs ever.
im analysing it for english. lol

Remarkable song | Reviewer: CG606 | 1/20/08

This song is able to instantly put aside my thoughts and lets me visually unwind. I compare the visual stimulants in this song with Red Sky by Thrice. The meanings are different, of course, but the effectiveness of the words are similar. This song is truly a perfect song... nothing could be done to make it better... except maybe hearing it performed live. I like the literal meaning of the song and the way Jesse's voice sets a mood. It is a sad song that makes me happy... explain that.

Correction | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/10/08

First off this song is by far one of the best lyrically written song ever. Second off yes Seventy Times Seven is a biblical reference, maybe some of you guys should listen to when they speak at live shows. And Thirdly this song is a metphorical ship wreck story for love. Just think about it, and it should click pretty quickly. I mean, read the lyrics then think about it.

ha, just throwin this out there | Reviewer: yup | 12/29/07

jesse said live that this song is about a camp that he had went to. the leader made the kids do dangerous, life threatening things. one day the kids came up with this plan to get back at the leader. the plan worked, and the leader broke his leg and could not move. jesse said that the others left the leader behind, and he was the only one that stayed to help. he said he put him in a boat and rowed him a few miles down a river to help.
