I understand... | Reviewer: akeela12@hotmail.com | 7/5/2008
I'm an alcholic whom loves whiskey. I just recently broke up with my GF. I thought we'd be together forever. It's so hard not to do the samething. This song is a rude awaking for me. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Absolutely fantastic. I hope I don't end up under a willow tree...

this song hit me hard..it reminds me of my sons father who committed suicide when he was drunk because i wouldn't take him back because he was an alcoholic..and also my boyfriend after that also committed suicide when he was drunk because i broke up with him that night..just in 2006 for both..this song really makes me think of them..its an amazing song though and sad

    Alcoholism | Reviewer: mlw53@yahoo.com | 11/26/2007

My ex-husband is an alcoholic and that's why we divorced; his drinking caused a lot of pain and I can picture him dying from the alcohol. We never stopped loving each other though and that's why this song hits me so hard. Cuz the day he dies, I might just lose myself too and want to be buried next to him underneathe the willow.

Love it | Reviewer: Cody Phillips | 11/18/2007

Well this song hits me REALLY hard i have almost killed my self over getting dumped by my gf cuz she is the only 1 i really loved with all my heart and i want her to be my wife and have my kids but i was so close to killing myself. It was a close call.

    Very true | Reviewer: blue | 10/30/2007

i recently lost a gf of 3 years...she broke up with me, i did nothing wrong but long distance hurts, especially if your in the military. This song really expresses how her and i both feel still, and like, it makes me want to cry ,sometimes people try to drink their pain away and end up dying alone..id hate dying alone, i love this woman so dang much, and id hate to see her hurt...

It grabs and won't let go... | Reviewer: MKWATTY | 10/12/2007

Country legend Bill Anderson, the composer of the song, said that he had a hard time finding anyone to record it. Hearing Brad and Alison's perfect styling, makes that hard to believe. This is both a haunting song of lost love and an anthem for an almost-universal longing. I've played and picked country and folk since the early sixties and sometimes a song just jumps out, grabs you, and never lets go. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, you know you've found something very special. This is one of those rare, beautiful, heartfelt songs.

this is the most beautiful song i have ever heard. it is the only country song that i like. this is 1 of the only songs my girlfriend and i both like, that i know of. this song will probably always be one of my favorite country songs.

    The reason I can't sleep...... | Reviewer: Jessica | 9/21/2007

The first time i heard this song I was ballin my eyes out. I have a boyfriend who is in the army and his third turn is oct.5. The reason I love this song is because I know that he loves me to death, Well, turns out i got drunk and cheated on him. This is why I can't sleep knowing that he will drink his pain away of me cheating on him.

    this song. | Reviewer: Tricia | 8/10/2007

this song probably means alot to all of us.It makes people cry just thinking about things.i know i cried when i heard this song to people might hate it because they think its stupid or to depressing but it def. has a point to it because everyone who has lost their love or someone feels like their hearts broken and cant take the pain sometimes. all of us have a broken heart once in our life. =/

    Suicide | Reviewer: Hoog-a-booga | 7/29/2007

To about the 3rd reviewer down: You can't blame a song for what your husband (r.i.p) done. People with depression who split from their long term partners, alot of the time, do turn to alcohol - it has the appeal of "easing pain". When a depressed person is drunk they are much much more liable to commit suicide. It has nothing to do with a song, its to do with the individual. You shouldn't "hate" a song because of what happened. Having said that, you don't have to like it either.
