The Reviews about Eve of Destruction (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Bob Dylan

Pulse of the 60's | Reviewer: Dick Turman | 10/20/09

This song was real feelings in the 60's and it still has so much truth today. We were so close to nuclear war is the Cuban missle crisis. It's by God's grace half our world isn't gone by now. How about North Korea and the middle east? There will never be peace on this earth as we will experience above.

A MOMENENT IN TIME | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/30/09

eve of destruction | Reviewer: JOHN "D" | 11/7/08

This has always been an anthem for me. I first heard it "one dark and stormy night", when I was living in Kitimat BC. The next day I went out and bought the "45" can you remember them? I still have it, and listen to it often. Great and powerful piece.

P.F.Sloan | Reviewer: eralperdogan | 6/29/08

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal says Lennon, bullshit is global destruction politics of those nations enrolled, if exist would history reveal the truth, and this song is one of beatiful songs that P.F.Sloan had written

peace | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/21/08

"The song is choked with the atmosphere of arrogant hippy smugness.... And Barry McGuire can't sing to save his life.. What a complete piece of pretentious shit."

Just think, if everyone thought that way, we would be in Iraq for 100 years. Everyone just needs to get their minds out of the WAR gutter. Fuck us if we can't all get together and spread peace!

"Eve of Destruction" was written and recorded by Barry McGuire in 1965. Although many confuse this song as Bob Dylan's, he never recorded it. It is however one of the greatest protest songs of the 60's

Eve Of Destruction is included on soundtrack of Sicko | Reviewer: Julia Rice | 7/8/07

The lyrics are sung in French so it took me about an hour to figure out where the familiar melody came from. It's sung during the credits and once I realized the deeper meaning of it's inclusion in the movie, it had quite a haunting effect on me. The song is timeless.

Eve of destruction | Reviewer: Ray | 5/15/07

FYI - I was a medic in the USAF from 1964 to 1968 and when I heard the song over the air in San Francisco it really brought home a message for the times. The South was having problems with integration, and we were steadily increasing our military forces in Viet Nam. I personnally saw a lot of what the song was about! From medical training in Mississippi in 1964 to the hundreds of casualties we worked with out of nam. The song was not bull shit!!

As true now, as when it was written. | Reviewer: Dan | 8/9/06

If there was ever to be only one "Protest" song, this would be it!

This song should not be blamed on Bob Dylan | Reviewer: Dick Hertz | 3/12/05

The song is choked with the atmosphere of arrogant hippy smugness.... And Barry McGuire can't sing to save his life.. What a complete piece of pretentious shit.
