more than two years. | Reviewer: paperthinheart. | 12/7/07
i think that its saying is that if someone could one for so much longer, even with all the pain that a loved one has cause you, then wait.
to trust that person.
im 20 and was engaged to be married but my fiancee didnt know what he wanted and promised two years it would be.
its been three months since everything but he said to give him time. but through this all, he has been the most vile, rude, and hurtful person to me. saying he loves me but then doesnt.
but for me, i think that it says that in the lines 'In two more years, my sweetheart, we will see another view.
Such longing for the past for such completion. They say: "be brave, there's a right way and a wrong way"
This pain won't last for ever, this pain won't last for ever.
Two more years, there's only two more years.
To start anew all over, remove those scars from your arms
To start anew all over more enlightened.'
that all this, will change when we change. and it could take longer than two years but at least that we will be growing up and become more mature and understand true love.
thats what i think this song is about. and i love it cause its my inspiration to still live and love no matter what. and to just never give up hope.
Frustration | Reviewer: Colleen | 12/6/07
I think It has to do with being a teenager, being in love, and how constant sexual oppression from society forces teenagers to love eachother in secrecy.
Hence the two more years: when they're older, when they can be together without it being looked down upon.
So basicly it's about being sexually frustraited.
That's what it reminds me of.

Dont take the words so literally. the meaning is much deeper. Its probably about love in college or uni; only two more years, i had a boyfriend in school and the motto was two more years till were free of parents, school and confinement. i have a boyfriend in uni, and in our third year the only thought of getting through the difficulties is thinking we only have another two more years. the song is about strengthening a relationship and comforting the other by getting through just another two more years.
No, it's not. | Reviewer: darren | 11/27/07
It's about how everything seems to be too much when your a teenager and in two years (when you're an adult and time has passed) everything will be better.
Remember that Kele is a Nigerian immigrant when you read "They say. Be brave, there's a right way and a wrong way. This pain won't last for ever, this pain won't last for ever."

i love this song.
for me it means alot for me.
as i am still at school and have jus split up with my guy. we will only be at school for two more years and will only have to put up with the pain of seeing eachother for that time.
this pain wont last forever, and i've realised that now.
great song

it's just about the way he sees life, and how as we grow older we learn more things and how as we meet more responsibilitiesss, we grow more synical to the world, which is what he means by i've become crueler in your presence.
Teenagers | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/18/07
I was once a teenager...
every song i ever heard from a band that i liked was written specifically for me and expressed my exact feelings when in any given scenario: break-up, betrayal, infideity... yawn.
Then I realised that the guys who pen these songs have never met me and wouldn't have the slightest interest in my life never mind wanna write about it.
The point of this is: the song is not to do with a couple of hormonal, melodramatic teenagers breaking up.
My interpretation | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/6/07
Definitely about breaking up and seeing your ex after everythin has happened.
"In two more years, my sweetheart, we will see another view
Such longing for the past for such completion
What was once golden has now turned a shade of grey
I've become crueler in your presence"
This basically stating that in two years from now they will see things differently and won't feel as attached or as upset as they do now. The stuff that was once amazing will then become dull and simply forgotten in the past even though they miss what they had so much.
When you break up you are just so angry at the person and everytime you see them you can't help but be cruel in their presence, hence the line in the song.
This pain won't last forever, basically referring to the fact that although it hurts so much now, the pain will eventually subside and things will get better.
You don't need to find answers for questions never asked of you
In my view means that don't go searching over and over for reasons and lessons why things happened, when no one even asked you anything about such things.
And we cover our lies with handshakes and smiles
And we try to remember our alibis
To me this means, everytime you see her, you shake hands and smile pretending things are alright but when in reality you are hiding the cruelity and the pain and the other emotions associated with him / her
This is my interpretation of the song. I find it amazing how Kele can write about a topic and define exactly how someone feels. I think they are one of the best bands i have ever heard and can't wait 'till their next album.
Cheers

good song | Reviewer: x | 8/7/07
this is a really nice song.
i think it is talking about depression, and i don't think it is a break up song, more a *dare i say it* love song.
