The title is great, as a lot of sexual abuse victims develop an aversion to the gender that abused them. The way the song is laid out is as important as the lyrics. It comes in hard, to feed the pain and the anger, and then there is a soft break to wash the pain away and give a feeling of peace, and then it comes back in hard to avenge the wrongs. These guys are incredible. As a victim of sexual abuse myself, this song really speaks to me. That in turn would make every other guy look bad. The main character in the song has become aware and is channeling his despair and pleading the abuser to stop the abuse. The despaired also has a burden of guilt for not intervening, which can be noticed in his question, "what have I not? [done]". The main purpose of the song is to create an awareness in listeners about trying to recognize signs of potential abuse. "She tries to adjust" has a double meaning.
