------ performed by Billy Joel
come on already | Reviewer: Lee Jones | 6/13/07
Billy starts out a little depressed. the upbeat tempo coincides with some great memories. The ending is the ultimate. He comes back to earth and remembers how things ended. There is no wine list, A bottle of red, a bottle of whites........ what ever mood your in.... He is talking about drugs, whites and reds... Uppers and downers..... What ever it takes to change your mood.

You need to stop criticizing other people. Really. I can't take you seriously when you don't capitalize, spell, or use proper punctuation.

ok so this song has been a favorite of mine since i was way little. and im ashamed of these reviews. i mean come on, brenda and eddie dead? HAH. or this is billy himself? i mean come on do research first, wikipeadia it or something. it does have great symbolism and allusions though.
my review of the song | Reviewer: jay slatts | 4/11/07
he thinks about times back in his days. when he last says 'here we are wavin' brenda and eddie goodbye' he's saying that they're dead. and he's in restaurantsaying with his wife 'either red champagne or white? what do you want?'
What Billy Means here | Reviewer: cory | 12/25/06
I think the point of this song is that he is remembering high school days, not himself. The point of the slow begining is that he is older and in a restaurant, then he tells of some people he knew back in high school, this song is not about Billy himself
Billy Joel's greatest ballid is actually a metaphor. | Reviewer: The Review | 8/30/06
It is not mearly about reminising with an "old aquaintance at a restaruant about Brenda and Eddie - the high school flames" he is speaking of himself and another woman. The narrorator is actually viewing Brenda or Eddie and as he/she talks about the restaurent he/she is refering to her/his head as the place he can always get back together with her/his past love. In the beginning the tone of the song is low to portray the depressive state of seeing a longtime lover. However as he reminises about the love the pase of the song is picked up and then decreases at the end when he touches with reality.

Great use of two ideas - Reminiscing with an old aquaintance at a restaruant about Brenda and Eddie - the high school flames....great blend
