The collapse of the economy brought about an end to this hedonism for many. The song was written long before all that of course, but it holds special meaning now. Over indulgence through monetary luxuries and drugs and drink to forget about responsibilities and inner turmoil. It's simply time to grow up, as fun as it had been to be in a haze of satin sheets, chandeliers, caviar, cabernet, and fine cocaine. He's loved these days | Reviewer: miranda | 7/8/09 In my eyes this song shows how people loved the good old days when everything was simple, but now the good old days are gone and they egknowledge that, but they "drink a toast to how it's been".
