What a testament it is to the love of Christ shining out to others from our own faith and belief in Him. When we believe, this light is a gift to others, making them more joyful, strengthened by the love of God through us. When they are failing, when they are weak, we can be God's strength for them; this is what he means by 'borrowing our strength and hope' accepting it and being flooded with it from God Himself through us.
