Well, at first, that's what it seemed like to me, rough sex. Then I realized, someone was probably getting raped. And if the song writer said that its about the "pleasure" of murder, then I suppose it makes sense according to the lyrics. And being a virgin is not a bad thing, but that also means you probably wouldn't have caught something like that in a song right away either I guess. And it is most definately not about vampires. Vampires are over rated, honestly, and for them to sing about it....probably woldn't be exciting. It would probably be a happy, sparkling in the sunlight song, which would just suck.

Seriously Vampires and Rough sex?

Okay twilight is horrible so don't compare an awesome song to that god awful crap.

Rough sex? where do you get off calling these people virgins, I mean they probably are if they follow that twilight chicks philosophy and wait till they marry a gay vampire to pop the cherry, but since when is rough sex about murder. Yes, there are strong sexual undertones that coincide with the vampire vibe, but the fact remains, it's about what the band says it is about. So, quit arguing, quit over-analyzing the music, and enjoy it for the amazing music that it is.

Fantastic song, in spite of the apparent controversy surrounding it by those reviewing it. The guitars and vocals are wonderful as always, and the lyrics are definitely something to think on... but not too much.

well im reading all of your reviews and saw the twilight ones,(you know twilight is not the only vampire movie out but since mostly little girls watched it they have no idea about van helsing, or dracula, queen of the dammed?) im not hating on the movie but i think its a simple minded story made to earn quick money from little girls which i think is mostly their demographic ...sorry :\

now back to the song...lol..i THINK its about a vampires i guess from the blood part lol but more about sexual desires lying dormant in the guy and how he really feels about the girl maybe he loved her so much and he sings the song cuz hes not able to express his desires or how he really feels to her except in the song, maybe who knows but yea man the solo is awesome! i always repeat the solo when im hearing the song gahhhh :D

The song is about a surgeon and a patient on his operating table.

He got frustrated during the procedure, it happens, if you can't hold on to those instruments because they're so bloody. Then You get angry and that clouds your judgment, or blinded by rage. The taste blood part, well what happens when you're frustrated? You stroke your chin. Obviously this doctor forgot that there was blood on his hands and accidentally got blood in his mouth.

Of course if I'm going to be operated on I'm going to be scared. I'll scream and I'll want to run away but I don't because the doctor called me baby and it makes me feel safe.

Okay the patient has been anesthetized and he turned up the temperature in the room to make the patient feel more comfortable when going under, or setting free. Arms always at rest at the sides when lying down it relaxes the muscles and makes cutting easier. Pleasures all mine this time, the Doctor is doing the surgery on his own. Not standard procedure there is usually a team, this is probably why he gets frustrated and tastes the blood.

This is just the chorus, but there is meaning supporting my belief as well. Cherish your job if you love doing it. Cover me with unwanted clemency, well I guess the patient wanted to be awake for the surgery but the Doc was like no way this is going to hurt you. Scream till there's silence, while there's life left, perishing; Get all your fear out before you go under or it'll be a bad trip, I'm not saying that you'll die on the table, but there's a good chance. Now the Doc screams during the operation and takes off his surgeon's mask to breath, his desire to take in oxygen unencumbered, bad move if you ask me, it makes the room unsterilized.

He lost it during the surgery and made a mistake he hopes to learn from this and that it isn't so but he knows what he did and the patient is no more. They should really do a practice surgery before the real one and that's why there is a team, there's no such thing as a lone surgeon. Even though he messed up he knows he'll work again and he'll do better.

Oh my God this wasn't an accident at all he wanted to kill his patient. That explains why he didn't want a team, no witnesses. Well I'll never trust modern medicine again. I'm using holistics from now on. Thanks for the warning, Avenged Sevenfold.

This song is absolutely amazing.The lyrics do come to me as rape and vampires, though I've never thought of 'Twilight' while listening to this song. ( can't stand the movie)

And as for the Beast and the Harlot, that song was great. Not as great as their other songs but it is still worth listening to.

I have several ideas of this song. The first time I heard it I obviously thought vampire, after hearing the words 'i'll taste your blood tonight' but i suppose that could be related to killing too.

Pleasure's all mine this time" Rape..sort of. Say it's actually about a vampire. and the vampire has the power to control its prey into relaxing and make it so they can't struggle. The pleasure would be the vampires in the blood drinking and in the sex.
