history lessons | Reviewer: Miles Parker | 1/12/09
hiroshima and nagasaki were military and industrial cities, so they were prone to attack anyways. also, i said the a-bomb was terrible, i didn't say it was evil. taking the life of anyone is terrible. YOU as an active duty marine should know that, but it is necessary to protect other innocent people. the a-bomb was much more effective because a full-scale invasion (the second option) would have resulted in more casualties, civilian and military.
i don't know who james carroll is, so i looked him up. i haven't read his book, but i can tell you i wouldn't believe it even if i read it. IF japan did try to surrender, then there were reasons for the refusals. most likely it was because their conditions for surrender were not agrreeable. if i find more info on it, i might change my position. until then, i'm sticking to my beliefs. i would ,however, also like to say thank you for serving the USA. i do respect you, even though we differ in opinion.
R u pol really fat stupid | Reviewer: Chris b | 1/8/09
Some of u PLO wanna leave Iraq now? That's bullshit. Think of it like this. America is the STRONGEST nation in the world. Period. Put this into perspective ur the strongest guy in school and then some little guy comes up and punches in the face. What do you do? Do you walk away like Obama would do, or would you knock his little ass out? Keep in mind that ur the strongest guy in school and ur setting an example for everyone else. Same thing with America, and Iraq is like the little guy that comes up and hits u. If u are the strongest guy or country and some little powerless kid or country comes and attacks u then yes u need to overreact u gotta show everyone that ur not messin around. USA got the strongest spot for a reason, it's because we fought for it, and now Obama wants to change us into a country that will back down to anyone. And soldiers are way more than pawns so u need to shut the fuck up.
History... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/7/09
Read your history before you make statements like "the a-bomb was terrible but necessary;" coming from an active duty Marine well versed in Cold War history, I can tell you that the atomic bombings were FAR from necessary. Japan had attempted to contact America for surrender no less than three times on official back channels but were denied on each attempt; Truman was pushed to drop the bombs by hawkish advisers that wanted to make a show of force to scare Russia into compliance in a newly coalescing post-war world. (Good source: House of War by James Carroll.)
I have not yet seen a good reason to conduct evil in this world - military or otherwise.
seriously | Reviewer: Maksym | 1/1/09
you guys are seriously tripping balls
A) soldiers are pawns
B) obama is like gorbachev(anybody remember what happened with him-- he brought a super power)
C)Gitmo is a concentration camp/prison just cause the US's is the most well known doesn't mean other countries don't have them
D) back to point A just cause soldiers are pawns doesnt mean we shouldnt respect them
i give these points without resoans because it is up to you to decide wether to bilive them or not

I really appreciate the post on 12/18. Thanks to whoever wrote it. but just to clear things up, as far as my research shows, the only "torture" method used is water boarding and the playing of REALLY bad music (a.k.a. Achy Breaky Song). I'm not sure about the whole acid thing. i have not found anything on that.
I would also like to commend you on your comment about manipulating. I too agree that manipulation (to a certain degree) is a "MUST" when it comes to war. "Fight fire with fire, and ice with ice." Sometimes things must be done to prevent worse things from happening. The A-bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki (sorry if i spelled those wrong) was a terrible, horrendous thing, but it had to be done. Torture is not right; i'm sure there are other methods of collecting info. but it may be necessary to prevent awful things from happening to people.
Once again, thanks for the apology and the comment. i'd appreciate it if you e-mailed me though so i know who you are. i promise i;ll keep it confidential. anyone else is free to e-mail me too, just please, no foul of rude language. and no arguing OR discussing. save it for the comment lists.

At first, Terry please don't start this bitching, we're not fighting we're having a discussion. Also Parker I'm sorry for that before, the thing you called as "name-calling" I was just trying to push your buttons a little bit and try to get something radical out of your mouth, cause first you were talking about only superficial and I wanted you to really get into that subject.
And now when you really got into it, you really seem to be a smart guy. All that what's gonna happen when they shut down Guantanamo, etc. is only an opinion of yours. Thanks for your latest respond, I got what I wanted and I can see you have started to think a bit about those attacks, thinking what consequences Al-Qaida wants to see happen cause of those attacks.
There's only one thing what makes me marvel, and it was how you said they don't torture people in Guantanamo. I thought putting acid to someones skin is pretty much torturing, and that's just one of their negotiation methods.
I don't know if it's right or wrong to torture people to get info, if you can save a lot of lives. BUT in those cases you should have a proof what they know for sure, that there won't be happening any torturing caused by having only a think that they MIGHT have info.
In the end people should always remember how easy it's to manipulate other human being to do stuff. It has been calculated that it is possible to manipulate some person to kill or go to war in 1.5 weeks. I'm sure there's people who has been manipulated by Al-Qaida and some who regrets it. There have been a lot of manipulating in World Wars as well, It's a MUST when country ends up to have a war.
I rather not put my name in here, it would end up in magazines and newspaper for pretty sure.
Anyways thanks for this chatting and MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY, stay sharp. M.
don't care | Reviewer: Miles Parker | 12/17/08
I'm sorry dude, but i'm arguing b/c i'm tired of people dogging the troops. I'm taking a stand for them. And honestly, i don't care what the terrrorists are fighting for, it's wrong. Deep down inside, everyone knows what is obviously wrong, and killing people in the name of spreading a religion, any religion for that matter, is definitely wrong.
Nobody has said anything about Obama assisting terrorism, and we (when i say "we," i mean people who believe similar to me, just fyi) honestly don't care if he's black, white, red, or yellow w/ purple polka dots. we just think that shutting down GTMO is a REALLY bad idea.
what the hell are you guys arguing for? | Reviewer: terry williams | 12/9/08
listen to what your saying people... terrorists hate us and we hate them... there is nothing wrong with our opinions... just keep them to yourselves... who cares about the meaning... honestley the song is amazing and it shouldnt be used to start arguing about it... those of you who think terrorists aren't as bad as they seem, Our people are dying to save your ass from future attacks... We are on the same Team God Dammit...so what if your new president is black, doesn't mean he's going to assist terrorist. your all probably thinking "what the F*** is this guy on about?"... but just think about the people who are dieng for what they believe in, Terrorist or not... they have thier beleifs and reasons... anyway this is supposed to be a site where paople can talk about how great or crap the music is, its not for conflict and arguments...!
ugh | Reviewer: Miles Parker | 12/7/08
Honestly, the name-calling, it's getting a little redundant now. like i said, if you don't have the guts to put down your own name, don't bother insulting others.
You know what.... you are totally right. Terrorists will always be around in every country. Just like there will always be drug dealers, rapists, and gang violence. So does that mean we should just give up and not do anything? Wrong. "The only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." you're right. we may not be able to get every terrorist, but we
can try to get as many as we can.
Also, if Obama gets rid of Guantanamo bay, that means we just lost all of our POWs and any chance we have at getting any info on Al Queda. Guantanamo is NOT a concentration camp. My grandfather was a POW in a Nazi POW camp during WWII, and the things that go on in GTMO are nothing compared to what happened to those in a Nazi POW camp. Water Boarding? Give me a break. That is NOT torture, that creating temporary discomfort to an enemy soldier.
9/11 happened b/c America is a successful capitalist country that doesn't revolve around Islam. Don't get me wrong, Islam is not a bad religion. It was extremists that planned the attack. Extremists are the real threat. They can be found in EVERY religion throughout the world's history. They can even be found in atheist groups. Al Queda has also targeted other countries, such as Canada, Spain, Britain, and many others. Why don't you tell me why they are attacking them? and another thing. the gulf war ended a long time ago. there may have been some tension, but the USA and Iraq have not been jerks to each other since 1983.
those who want to talk about the meaning of this song can look at the comment made by Aidee Sevenfold on 11/8/2008. there is no need for name calling to those who have a differing opinion on what the song is about. for the record, i am not arguing about the meaning of the song.
Ridiculous | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/8/08
Okay, so you are willing to release "possible" terrorists who "possibably" could, maybe just "might" kill thousands of innocents, to save a few who may or may not be terrorists them selves. To me that sounds ridiculous, much like the basis of our up coming president-elects own presidency. I do agree that Terrorists did attack America, 9/11, with their own reason for doing so, but the reasons for it are so radical and ridiculous that they shouldn't be even thought of as being relevent reasons. But yet in the end what does it all matter, memento mori.
BubbleParker | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/29/08
First of all you're right anonymous about the meaning of the song, it's about all that and to give honor all M.I.A's.
I don't like to say, but all soldiers are just pawns it's true, you can ask that from your "info". 9/11 happened, because Iraq and USA have been in war since what? 1983? Always about the revenge. Iraq and USA have both been assholes to each others.
Obama seems to be very logical, fair, intelligent and calculating further, that's why I like him. He's already going to shut down the last concentration camp in the world, Guantanamo isn't a prison it really is a concentration camp just not killing people but torturing them.
You can always say that they are terrorists, but there's also a lot people who's just been suspected for terrorism without any proof. Not long ago news wrote about it how USA were torturing some random school boy and asking questions about the terrorism, next targets, etc.
It's pointless to fight about, which one of us is right, cause neither of us ain't that 100% or even close. Just asking what you're planning? Try to kill all Al-Qaida members? Well it's impossible, even all the main targets would been taken down there's always young people following Al-Qaida's concept. There is maniacs in every country and always will be.
sigh....... | Reviewer: Miles Parker | 11/17/08
1. my name is not bubbleboy. that's really gay. my name is Miles Parker. I've written it on all of my posts. and honestly, i don't think you have the right to insult me if you don't have the guts to write your own name.
2.yes, there were biological weapons in Iraq. Like i said, i look up the info.
3.i actually do give room for a second opinion. i could also easily say that YOU are the one who doesn't tolerate a second opinion. don't say that about me. i could easily accuse you of the same thing.
4.there is plenty of honor involved with being a soldier in the US military. don't you dare call a soldier a pawn ever again. they are more than just pawns. they defend YOUR freedom to be able to talk the way you do about them. also, i haven't heard anything from you about why Al Queda attacked the US. you say that we did something. so tell me, what did we do?
5.as for your precious Obama, he's going to end up a worse president than Carter. he has no idea what he's doing. name me one thing that he has done or plans to do that will make America, or the world for that matter, a better place. and one more thing. Obama's not the president. he's the President-elect. get it right.
Some people are confused... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/14/08
Those people who think that the song was written owed the fight between Iraq and USA are wrong! that has being written To put conscience for all the people that keep fighting and producing more disasters between the communication of the countrys over the world
OPEN UR EYES!
Bubbleboy | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/14/08
No "biological weapons" were ever found from Iraq. All that flaming and telling "I KNOW I'M RIGHT" is so typical patriotic American bullshit. I know those guys usually avoids the question "You really think Al Qaida attacked for no good reason?" But you're actually the first who really believes that crap. It's really a punch in da face and you really believe that's coming there from thousands miles away for no good reason. You're trying to defend your opinions and things people have told you so aggressively, that you won't give a minute for a second thoughts. There's no shine or nothing cool to be a soldier, they are just doing their jobs, sad for them, cause they are nothing more than just pawns on the president's chessboard. I'm as well glad that Obama is now the president of the United States.
fact or opinion | Reviewer: Miles Parker | 11/9/08
I'm not pretending to be a soldier. Not once did i even say it. I don't think i'm right, i KNOW i'm right. It's not my opinion, it's a fact. I get my info from reliable sources. I don't jump headlong into conversations w/o researching the facts, unlike some retards. my whole point though is that people really need to stop dogging the soldiers, and America's reason for fighting. The reason is just, and the soldiers are willing to pay the price. NO ONE was drafted, they are all there on their own accord. You have got to be a low-life cowardly slug to dog someone for doing a job that allows you and others to enjoy the freedoms that you have. America's pledge of Allegiance doesn't say "with liberty and justice for Americans." It says "...with liberty and justice for ALL." Iraq deserves to be free. Al queda is the enemy, not Iraq. And yes, we were attacked for no good reason. America didn't do anything to deserve 9/11. i've said it three times now, ask a soldier, they will tell you what it's really like to be overseas, what we're fighting for, and who the bad guys really are. That is what America is all about, destroying evil and protecting the defenseless. If you don't like that, then just leave already. We have no need for sorry, inconsiderate, ungrateful, spineless, selfish jerks like you.
