First of all, dont diss our religion. Im a practicing catholic and i dont go around telling Atheists shit against their non-religion religion......

And its the truth. This s about cain and abel....so what? Avenged Sevenfold takes alot of good biblical references, it doesnt mean they are a christian band, biblical refrences just make good lyrics. Good day.

pretty AMAZING song!!! | Reviewer: Lucas | 3/23/09

Caper Four is an AMAZING song. Its tells the story about when cain kills his brother able out of jealousy in Genesis capter 4 of the bible. The song could have done good without the screaming, but I gotta say, it's one of my 3rd favourite A7X songs!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

a7x. | Reviewer: rem | 2/25/09

the band gets the name avenged sevenfold because in the bible when cain kills abel and god punishes him by putting him in this like different world if you will, and he says that if anyone tries to kill cain, they will suffer vengeance seven times over.. thats how they got there name.. it didn't say that they would suffer avenged sevenfold.. because that makes no sense what so ever..

Music doesn't have to be complex. | Reviewer: BlUe_AcE | 2/17/09

I Love this song and this album. In my own opinion Waking the Fallen is the most under rated album of all time, and this is probably my favorite album as well. As for the Bible references in their song, who cares. Religion gives us faith, or it is intended to. You have to be completely unbiased when listening to music. Enjoy the song, and ignore what you don't want to hear.

Amazing song, Christian or not | Reviewer: Jake | 2/6/09

I love this song, and I love the fact that it comes from the Bible. If anyone's actually read the Bible, it's quite dark (specially Old Testament and Revelations). And they get a lot of stuff from the Bible: "avenged sevenfold" is from Genesis, Beast and the Harlot is about Babylon the prostitute, and Johnny Christ and The Rev get their names from Christian references. Just because they quote the Bible doesn't mean they're a Christian Rock band. If you think about it, Satanic lyrics quote the Bible, do they not?

Great lyrics | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/5/09

I love this song musically. It is just so epic and Shadows' singing is the best on Waking the Fallen. But the lyrics are my favourite part of the song.

When you think about them, they are actually very dark. They are about the story of Cain and Abel, as we all know, but from Cain's point of view.

"Where has he gone? what have you done?"
A voice commands, from high above this earth
From this soul his blood cried out to me
"Murder, liar, vengeance, deciet"

^^ being my favourite part of this song and Shadows' delivery is just exceptional. In my opinion, no one else could have done a better job than M. Shadows on this song. His screaming fits it so well and his singing makes the song sound so epic. And unlike Reminissions, and Unholy Confessions, it doesn't have a breakdown at the end of it to kill the epic feel.

Probably my favourite song on Waking the Fallen and one of my favourite A7X songs.

Far away in this land I must go,
out of the sight of--------------> Thw <--------------- One.
A punishment sent from his hands
a hardship that no one should know
Now go out of the site of The One,
away in this land you must go.

Clearing up. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/22/08

No bands are "strictly" religious. A7X is as much of a religious band as any. MANY of their songs from City of Evil album are Allusions to the bible, or simple bible stories. Which I could say is more than most bands. Also, they are catholic. They met in Catholic Private School. =))

Dear the ignorant person bellow me | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/15/08

Are you saying that because of a music video these guys can't be christian? uh... ever heard of Slayer? singer/bassist Tom Araya is Catholic for fucks sake! and if you don't know, Slayer's lyrics directly attack christianity "there is no fucking jesus christ/there never was a sacrifice" is one of their lines. Tom Araya pretty much says that they're just lyrics. Like the music video, was just a damn music video!

a lil bit o/both | Reviewer: metalhead101 | 12/6/08

this song is about cain and abel. A7X got their name from Genesis, chapter 4(hence the song). howeva, they are not a religious band and DEFINATELY not christians(check out the video for "Bat Country". anymore ignorant questions? check the website, (www.avengedsevenfold.com/) ya dumbfucks!!! lol jk :P

Cain and Abel | Reviewer: Nick Sevenfold | 11/6/08

This song is from Genensis "Chapter 4" of the Bible. It's where Cain kills Abel because he was jealous that God accepted Abel's offering and not Cain's. The band actually gets it name from Genesis chapter 4 where it states "and anyone that tries to slay Cain will be Avenged Sevenfold."

All the religous kids want the song to be religious. The little atheists and satanists try to bursh it all off.
Lol A7x is not a religious band, yet you cannot deney that they are some what intrigued by the bible. They probably aren't chirstian and they are probably not antheist either.
Respect the songs accual meaning don't be a fuck tard and deney what is there.

It pisses me off to hear people say, "I thought this song was evil but now its ok cause its about the bible." Ok... Creed had songs that were about religion, too and Scott Stap was an atheist... Music isn't good or evil. It is either entertaining or not. This song is amazing. Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet are two of the best albums I have ever heard, but even though they use religious themes they ARE NOT a religious band. Metallica used a lot of religious themes as well. Come on people, music is music. Jesus.
